12. A multiplexed array comprising:
- a hydrophobic barrier formed on a substrate, the hydrophobic barrier and substrate cooperating to define a plurality of wells, each well including (i) an opening defined in an upper surface of the hydrophobic barrier and (ii) a microarray positioned therein;
a well-forming cover positioned over the hydrophobic barrier, the hydrophobic barrier and the well-forming cover cooperating to laterally contain liquid samples in each one of the plurality of wells when the liquid samples are deposited therein; and
means for removably sealing each well of the plurality of wells.

19. A method for fabricating a multiplexed array, the method comprising:
-
synthesizing a plurality of plurality of probes on a common substrate to form a plurality of microarrays; forming a hydrophobic barrier on the common substrate, the hydrophobic barrier surrounding each microarray to form a plurality of wells, and positioning a liquid cover slip on the hydrophobic barrier such that the liquid cover slip covers each of the plurality of wells. - View Dependent Claims (20)
