Abstract

A manhole cover extractor that pulls and lifts weighty horizontal items such as manhole covers and handhold enclosure covers that are lifted perpendicular from one side and pulled from the original position, removed and on same plane able to lift and move cover back to the original setting or simply move cover as to not create a tripping hazard; the tool consists of a T-bar which gives the necessary fulcrum for effortless removal and management of cumbersome manhole covers, the T-bar is comprised with handles to control the load. A polypropylene strap which is doubled back with reinforced cross stitching and J-hook which engages the object(s) listed and the aforementioned polypropylene strap is docked to the T-bar handle. Pneumatic all-terrain tires that are attached to an axle that is secured to the T-bar handle through the A-frame of the dolly.

Claims

1. A portable manhole cover and handhole cover extractor, comprising:

attachment to a seated manhole cover in the manhole ring through engagement with a metal hook filed at angles for adaptability of particular covers is attached through a polypropylene strap and docked at the point of the T-bar handle and rigidly attached to axle assembly as to give vertical positioning for ease with foot pressure directly on axle assembly and pulling motion on T-bar handles providing fundamental fulcrum deriving perpendicular lift of one side of manhole cover, therefore allowing movement of described covers from original position.

2. A portable manhole cover and handhole cover extractor according to claim 1, once removed from seat and on the plane of the extractor wherein extractor has means for lifting and movement of covers.

3. A portable manhole cover and handhole cover extractor according to claim 1, wherein extractor has means for lifting and movement of covers once removed on all site surfaces, due to pneumatic all-terrain tires.

4. A portable manhole cover and handhole cover extractor according to claim 1, wherein extractor has means for lifting of covers through J-hook and polypropylene strap that provides elasticity, which equates to the operator of the extractor effortlessness.

A portable manhole cover and handhole cover extractor according to claim 1, wherein extractor has means for lifting covers through J-hook filed at angles for insertion of U shaped openings and grasp upon interior edge that are provided on particular covers when pressure is engaged through T-bar handle.
