Abstract

Profile information and other information about users are received from information sources into a unified messaging platform. Multimedia messages and files for users are converted to text using approximation algorithms. Text and multimedia messages and files for users are analyzed using confidence scores and thresholds. Profile information, file keyword information and message keyword information are used to identify and transmit a limited amount of information about users to information consumers and content service providers. Information consumers and content service providers can customize their content that is presented to users.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method for providing targeted content services comprising:

receiving, at a unified messaging platform, a selection of profile information, text information, and multimedia information for users;

converting, using the unified messaging platform, multimedia information to text information;

using confidence scores and thresholds to select keywords about the users; and

sending keywords to information consumers and content service providers for the users.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the profile information is configured in the unified messaging platform.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein information that is received at the unified messaging platform for users include messages or files that contain text information.

4. The method of claim 3 wherein the unified messaging platform associates a confidence score with words in the messages or files for the users.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein information that is received at the unified messaging platform for the users include messages or files that contain audio information.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the unified messaging platform applies approximation algorithms to convert audio messages to text.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein the unified messaging platform associates confidence scores with the converted text information.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the unified messaging platform creates histograms of words for the users.

9. The method of claim 8 wherein the unified messaging platform applies thresholds to confidence scores associated with the converted text information, the converted text information associated with files and messages to create raw histogram information.

10. The method of claim 8 wherein the thresholds are specific to each information consumer and content service provider.

11. The method of claim 8 wherein the thresholds are the same for each information consumer and content service provider.

12. The method of claim 1 wherein the unified messaging platform converts raw histogram information to another refined histogram.

13. The method of claim 12 wherein the conversion is based on keywords that are specified by each information consumer and content service provider.

14. The method of claim 12 wherein the conversion is based on keywords that are the same for all of the information consumers and content service providers.

15. The method of claim 1 wherein a limited amount of selected keywords are sent to information consumers and content service providers for each user.

16. The method of claim 15 wherein the keywords that are sent to an information consumer or a content service provider are derived from a refined histogram.

17. The method of claim 16 wherein the keywords that are sent are created based on most frequent words in the refined histogram.

18. The method of claim 16 wherein the keywords that are sent are created based on selected words that are specified by each information consumer and content service provider.

19. A machine-readable medium having stored thereon a set of instructions which when executed, perform a method comprising:

receiving a selection of profile information, text information, and multimedia information for users;

converting multimedia information to text information;

using confidence scores and thresholds to select keywords about the users; and

sending the keywords to information consumers and content service providers for the users.

20. A computer system comprising:

at least one server for;

receiving a selection of profile information, text information, and multimedia information for users;

converting multimedia information to text information;

using confidence scores and thresholds to select keywords about the users; and

sending the keywords to information consumers and content service providers for the users.
