1. A system for optimizing the performance of a website that runs on one or more HTTP servers and is configured to receive HTTP requests from one or more clients via user agents and provide HTTP responses to said one or more clients comprising:
- an intermediary component configured to connect to said clients and said servers via network connections;
wherein said intermediary component comprises a traffic management system (TMS) and wherein said TMS comprises means for managing HTTP requests originating from said clients and targeting said servers and HTTP responses targeting said clients and means for redirecting said HTTP requests to said intermediary component; and
wherein said intermediary component further comprises a traffic processing system (TPS) and wherein said TPS comprises means for receiving said redirected HTTP requests and said HTTP responses and means of applying optimization techniques to said redirected HTTP requests and said HTTP responses.
