METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MICRO-DOSING A LIQUID
First Claim
1. A method for a time controlled micro-dosing of a liquid from a liquid reservoir, the method comprising:
- receiving the liquid reservoir with a structure wherein the structure is portable;
securing the liquid reservoir to the structure;
providing a drive unit with a first end and a second end, and having a drive motor;
connecting the second end of the drive unit to a displacement piston disposed within the liquid reservoir;
activating the drive motor;
displacing the drive unit and drive motor with respect to the structure towards the displacement piston in an axial direction;
moving the displacement piston axially within the liquid reservoir; and
micro-dosing the liquid from the liquid reservoir, whereindisplacement in the axial direction of the drive unit and drive motor is effected by rotating with the drive unit a rotatable member coupled to the first end of the drive unit, the rotatable member having an outer thread which engage an inner thread disposed on a sleeve coupled to the structure, andarranged between the drive unit and the second member is an anti-rotation element preventing rotation of the drive unit relative to the sleeve and permitting axial displacement of the drive unit relative to the sleeve.

Methods and devices for micro-dosing a liquid are disclosed herein. According to one embodiment, a method for a time controlled micro-dosing of a liquid from a liquid reservoir includes: receiving the liquid reservoir with a structure wherein the structure is portable; securing the liquid reservoir to the structure; connecting a second end of a drive unit to a piston disposed within the liquid reservoir; activating a drive motor; displacing the drive unit with respect to the structure towards the piston in an axial direction with the drive motor; moving the piston axially within the liquid reservoir; and micro-dosing the liquid from the liquid reservoir.

9. A micro-dosing device for micro-dosing a liquid from a liquid reservoir, the micro-dosing device comprising:

a structure; the liquid reservoir received within the structure and comprising a displacement piston; a drive unit comprising a first end, a second end, and a drive motor; a coupling member disposed at the second end of the drive unit and removably coupled to the displacement piston, wherein the displacement piston moves axially and dispenses the liquid from the liquid reservoir when the drive motor activates and axially displaces the drive unit relative to the structure; a rotatable member coupled to the first end of the drive unit and comprising an outer thread coaxially arranged around an axis of rotation; a sleeve comprising an inner thread that engages the outer thread of the rotatable member, wherein the sleeve is integral with the structure or secured to the structure, the drive motor rotates the rotatable member around an axis of rotation X to axially displace the rotatable member and the drive unit with respect to the sleeve; and an anti-rotation element disposed between the drive unit and the sleeve wherein the anti-rotation element prevents a rotation of the drive unit relative to the sleeve and permits an axial displacement of the drive unit relative to the sleeve. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)
