Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for the cosmetic treatment of a keratin material comprising at least the steps of: (a) having available a lyophilizate containing at least one live or inactivated, physiologically acceptable microorganism, one of its metabolites or one of its fractions and at least one surfactant with an HLB greater than or equal to 12, (b) having available a physiologically acceptable medium, separate from the said lyophilizate, (c) bringing the said lyophilizate extemporaneously into contact with the said medium under conditions favourable for the solubilization and/or dispersion of the said lyophilizate in the said medium, and (d) bringing the mixture obtained in the preceding step into contact with the said keratin material. It further relates to a lyophilizate as defined above.

Claims

1. A method for the cosmetic treatment of a keratin material comprising at least:

having available a lyophilizate containing at least one live or inactivated, physiologically acceptable microorganism, one of its metabolites or one of its fractions and at least one surfactant with an HLB greater than or equal to 12,

having available a physiologically acceptable medium, separate from the said lyophilizate,

bringing the lyophilizate extemporaneously into contact with the medium under conditions favourable for the solubilization and/or dispersion of the lyophilizate in the medium to obtain a mixture, and

bringing the mixture obtained into contact with the keratin material.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the said microorganism is selected from the group of microorganisms consisting of probiotic microorganisms, nonphotosynthetic filamentous bacteria, an extract thereof and a mixture thereof.

The method according to claim 2, wherein the microorganism is at least a probiotic microorganism of Lactobacillus and/or Bifidobacterium selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus johnsonii, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus casei or Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium animalis, Bifidobacterium lactis, Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium adolescentis or Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum and mixtures thereof.

The method according to claim 2, wherein the microorganism is at least one nonphotosynthetic filamentous bacterium or one of its extracts, selected from the group consisting of Vitreoscilla filiformis (ATCC 15551), Vitreoscilla beggiatoides (ATCC 43181), Beggiatoa alba (ATCC 33555), Flexithrix dorotheae (ATCC 23163), Leucothrix mucor (ATCC 25107), and Sphaerotilus natans (ATCC 13338).

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the said lyophilizate contains from 10¹ cfu/g to 10¹⁵ cfu/g of microorganisms.

The method according to claim 1, wherein the fractions and/or metabolites of the microorganisms are formulated in a quantity equivalent to at least 0.1% of active material or dry matter and up to 50% of active material or dry matter, of the lyophilized formula or support containing the fractions and/or metabolites.

The method according to claim 1, wherein the surfactant with an HLB greater than or equal to 12 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl and polyalkyl esters of poly(ethylene oxide), alkyl and polyalkyl esters of sorbitan, optionally polyoxyethylenated, alkyl and polyalkyl glucosides and polyglucosides, alkyl and polyalkyl esters of glycerol, optionally polyoxyethylenated alkyl ether sulphates, sarcosinates and betaines.

8. The method according to claim 1, wherein the lyophilizate further contains at least one lyophilization additive.

9. The method according to claim 1, wherein the physiologically acceptable medium of (b) consists of water.

10. The method according to claim 1, wherein the physiologically acceptable medium of (b) is a dermatological and/or cosmetic composition.

16. The method according to claim 2, wherein the said microorganism is an extract of Vitreoscilla filiformis (ATCC 15551).

17. The method according to claim 1, wherein the fractions and/or metabolites of the microorganisms are formulated in a quantity equivalent from 1% to 40% of active material or dry matter, of the lyophilized formula or support containing them.

18. The method according to claim 8, wherein the at least one lyophilization additive is selected from the group consisting of silica and its derivatives, clays, cellulose derivatives, polymers of natural origin, polymers of bacterial origin and hydrogels and derivatives of AMPS.

11. A lyophilizate, comprising:

at least one live or inactivated physiologically acceptable microorganism, one of its metabolites or one of its fractions and at least one surfactant with an HLB greater than or equal to 12, wherein the said microorganism being chosen is selected from the group consisting of probiotic microorganisms, nonphotosynthetic filamentous bacteria, an extract thereof and a mixture thereof.

12. The lyophilizate according to claim 11, further comprising at least one lyophilization additive.

13. The lyophilizate according to claim 12, wherein the lyophilization additive is a polymer of natural origin.

19. The lyophilizate according to claim 13, wherein the polymer of natural origin is xanthan.

14. An extemporaneous cosmetic or dermatological care product for a keratin material comprising at least:

a first composition completely or partially formed of a lyophilizate containing at least one live or inactivated physiologically acceptable microorganism, one of its metabolites or one of its fractions and at least one surfactant with an HLB greater than or equal to 12, wherein the microorganism is selected from the group consisting of probiotic microorganisms, nonphotosynthetic filamentous bacteria, an extract thereof and a mixture thereof, and

a second composition containing a physiologically acceptable medium separate from the lyophilizate, the medium is capable of solubilizing or dispersing the lyophilizate.

15. A packaging set comprising at least:

a first compartment containing at least one lyophilizate containing at least one live or inactivated physiologically acceptable microorganism, one of its metabolites or one of its fractions and at least one surfactant with an HLB greater than or equal to 12,

a second compartment containing a physiologically acceptable medium separate from the lyophilizate, the second compartment being, prior to the use of the set, isolated in a leakproof manner from the first compartment, and

wherein, in response to actuation, communication is established between the first and second compartments, and the lyophilizate is brought into contact with the physiologically acceptable medium.
