Abstract

A system and method for managing media advertising enterprise data including a process for learning enterprise data matching. An EDM (Enterprise Data Management) application module can be configured to include a set of rules at an enterprise level to manage disparate and disconnected records associated with an entity. A number of unmatched and enterprise entities that matches with respect to an active entity can be returned based on a fuzzy logic associated with various matching options stored in an EDM database. A matching process can then be performed to accurately match similar records regardless of manual input, location, and format of the records in a distributed system. Each unmatched record can then be assigned with a parent enterprise entity. Such an optimization mechanism can interactively manage and report records at the enterprise level in a simple and efficient manner.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

configuring a set of rules with respect to an enterprise data management module at an enterprise level in order to manage a plurality of disparate and disconnected records associated with an entity based on a scoring function, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system;

configuring a fuzzy logic in association with a plurality of matching options to match said plurality of records, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system; and

performing a matching process to accurately match said plurality of records with respect to a parent enterprise entity in order to manage and report said plurality of records at said enterprise level in a simple and efficient manner, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising storing said fuzzy logic in association with said plurality of matching options in an enterprise data management database, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

The method of claim 1 further comprising providing a plurality of unmatched entities and at least one enterprise entity that matches with respect to an active entity based on said fuzzy logic associated with said plurality of matching options stored in said database, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

4. The method of claim 3 further comprising:

displaying said plurality of unmatched entities in an unmatched entity section, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system; and

displaying said at least one enterprise entity in an enterprise entity section, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

5. The method of claim 3 further comprising populating said unmatched entity section and said enterprise entity section with said plurality of records based on said fuzzy logic, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising configuring said plurality of matching options to comprise an exact match, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

7. The method of claim 1 further comprising configuring said plurality of options to comprise a like match, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

8. The method of claim 1 further comprising configuring said plurality of options to comprise a Soundex match, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system.

9. The method of claim 1 further comprising configuring said plurality of options to comprise at least one of the following, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system:

an exact match;

a like match; and

a Soundex match.

10. The method of claim 1 further comprising creating a new enterprise entity if a user is unable to retrieve said at least one enterprise entity, by executing a program instruction in a data-processing system

11. A system, comprising

a processor;

a data bus coupled to said processor; and

a computer-usable medium embodying computer code, said computer-usable medium being coupled to said data bus, said computer program code comprising instructions executable by said processor and configured for;

configuring a set of rules with respect to an enterprise data management module at an enterprise level in order to manage a plurality of disparate and disconnected records associated with an entity based on a scoring function;

configuring a fuzzy logic in association with a plurality of matching options to match said plurality of records; and

performing a matching process to accurately match said plurality of records with respect to a parent enterprise entity in order to manage and report said plurality of records at said enterprise level in a simple and efficient manner.

12. The system of claim 11 wherein said instructions are further configured for storing said fuzzy logic in association with said plurality of matching options in an enterprise data management database.

13. The system of claim 11 wherein said instructions are further configured for providing a plurality of unmatched entities and at least one enterprise entity that matches with respect to an active entity based on said fuzzy logic associated with said plurality of matching options stored in said database.

14. The system of claim 13 wherein said instructions are further configured for:

displaying said plurality of unmatched entities in an unmatched entity section; and

displaying said at least one enterprise entity in an enterprise entity section.

15. The system of claim 13 wherein said instructions are further configured for populating said unmatched entity section and said enterprise entity section with said plurality of records based on said fuzzy logic.

16. The system of claim 11 wherein said instructions are further configured for arranging said plurality of options to comprise at least one of the following:

an exact match;

a like match; and

a Soundex match.

17. The system of claim 11 wherein said instructions are further configured for creating a new enterprise entity if a user is unable to retrieve said at least one enterprise entity.

18. A system, comprising

a processor;

a data bus coupled to said processor; and

a computer-usable medium embodying computer code, said computer-usable medium being coupled to said data bus, said computer program code comprising instructions executable by said processor and configured for;

configuring a set of rules with respect to an enterprise data management module at an enterprise level in order to manage a plurality of disparate and disconnected records associated with an entity based on a scoring function;

configuring a fuzzy logic in association with a plurality of matching options to match said plurality of records;

performing a matching process to accurately match said plurality of records with respect to a parent enterprise entity in order to manage and report said plurality of records at said enterprise level in a simple and efficient manner; and

storing said fuzzy logic in association with said plurality of matching options in an enterprise data management database.

The system of claim 18 wherein said instructions are further configured for providing a plurality of unmatched entities and at least one enterprise entity that matches with respect to an active entity based on said fuzzy logic associated with said plurality of matching options stored in said database.

20. The system of claim 18 wherein said instructions are further configured for populating said unmatched entity section and said enterprise entity section with said plurality of records based on said fuzzy logic.
