1. A lamp comprising:

  • a heat conductive outer shell which includes a peripheral portion, a light source support provided on one end of the peripheral portion and a recess opening at the other end of the peripheral portion;

    a base provided on the other end of the outer shell;

    a light source mounted on the light source support to transfer heat to the light source support;

    a cover mounted on the outer shell to cover the light source;

    a lighting circuit housed in the recess;

    an insulating member provided between the lighting circuit and an inner surface of the recess; and

    a heat shielding cover which, with the peripheral portion of the outer shell, defines a heat radiating path, the heat radiating path continuing in the axial direction of the outer shell, and an ascending current generated in the heat radiating path flows from the lower side to the upper side of the heat radiating path when a heat of the light source is conducted to the outer shell.
