Abstract

A gaming system network and gaming method are described. The network includes at least one network access device, a registration database configured to store registration data associated with each user, a verification system communicatively connected with the at least one network access device and the registration database, a video server, and a gaming system. The verification system verifies that the user associated with the network access device is a registered user and verifies security information received from the network access device. The video server stores a plurality of images corresponding to at least one game type. The gaming system generates at least one random game output associated with at least one game outcome, and communicates the plurality of images corresponding to the at least one game outcome to the at least one network access device.

21. A gaming system network, comprising:

at least one network access device;

a registration database configured to store registration data associated with each registered user;

a verification system in communication with the at least one network access device and the registration database, said verification system configured to;

receive user identification information from the at least one network access device;

receive security information from the at least one network access device;

verify the network access device user is a registered user by comparing the user identification information to the registration data; and

verify security information received from the network access device;

a video server configured to store a plurality of images corresponding to at least one game; and

a gaming system configured to;

generate at least one random game output, the at least one random game output associated with at least one game outcome; and

communicate the plurality of images corresponding to the at least one game outcome to the at least one network access device.

22. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the security information received from the at least one network access device comprises an IP address of the network access device.

23. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the security information received from the at least one network access device comprises a media access control identification of the network access device.

24. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the gaming system network further comprises a transactional system configured to track each transaction performed by the gaming system.

25. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the network access device is a gaming terminal.

26. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the network access device is a wireless handset.

27. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the network access device is a display that is operatively coupled to an interactive set-top box.

28. The gaming system network of claim 21, wherein the gaming system comprises a first network access device and a second network access device, the gaming system configured to allow a first game type to be played on the first network access device and a second game type to be simultaneously played on the second network access device.

29. A gaming system network, comprising:

at least one network access device;

a registration database configured to store registration data associated with each registered user;

a verification system in communication with the at least one network access device and the registration database, said verification system configured to;

receive user identification information from the at least one network access device;

receive security information from the at least one network access device;

verify the network access device user is a registered user by comparing the user identification information to the registration data; and

verify security information received from the network access device; and

a means for generating at least one game outcome and communicating a game output corresponding to the game outcome to the at least one network access device.

30. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the security information received from the at least one network access device comprises an IP address of the network access device.

31. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the security information received from the at least one network access device comprises a media access control identification of the network access device.

32. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the gaming system further comprises a transactional system configured to track each transaction performed by the gaming system.

33. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the network access device is a gaming terminal.

34. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the network access device is a wireless handset.

35. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the network access device is a display that is operatively coupled to an interactive set-top box.

36. The gaming system network of claim 29, wherein the gaming system network comprises a first network access device and a second network access device, the gaming system configured to allow a first game type to be played on the first network access device and a second game type to be simultaneously played on the second network access device.

37. A gaming method, comprising:

receiving user identification information associated with at least one network access device at a verification system;

receiving security information associated with the at least one network access device at a verification system;

verifying with the verification system that the at least one network access device user is a registered user by comparing the user identification information to registration data stored in a registration database;

verifying with the verification system security information received from the at least one network access device;

permitting the at least one network access device to communicate with the gaming system when user identification information is successfully matched to stored registration data and security information is successfully verified;

storing in a video server a plurality of images corresponding to at least one game;

generating with a gaming system at least one random game output, the at least one random game output associated with at least one game outcome; and

communicating the plurality of images corresponding the at least one game outcome from the gaming system to the at least one network access device.

38. The method of claim 37, wherein the security information received from the at least one network access device comprises an IP address of the network access device.

39. The method of claim 37, wherein the security information received from the at least one network access device comprises a media access control identification of the network access device.

40. The method of claim 37, further comprising the step of tracking each transaction performed by the gaming system with a transactional system.

41. The method of claim 37, further comprising permitting a first game type to be played on a first network access device and a second game type to be simultaneously played on the second network access device.
