Abstract

The present publication discloses a method and system for sending messages in a telecommunications network (1, 2, 6, 11, 12). In the method, a first text-form message (54) is sent to a user (50, 51) of the service, a reply (55) to the first text-form message is received from the user (50, 51) of the service to an address defined in the previous message, if the reply is of the correct form and content, the desired service (56, 58, 61) is sent to the user of the service. According to the invention, the user (50, 51) of the message service is offered a second service by a message (62), the information (such as the sending number is text-message traffic) defining the reply address of which differs from that of the first message (54), and the second offer message (62) is sent with a sending delay, which depends of the content or type of the first service.

19. Method for sending messages in a telecommunications network, said method comprising the steps of;

a first text-form message of session N is sent to a user of the service, in such a way that the sender address is altered to correspond to the session number N and the session stage J,

in stage 2-n of session N a text-form message to the sender address defined in the previous stage is received from the user of the message service and the stage proceeds according to the contents of the message, in such a way that the sender address is altered to correspond to the session number N and the new session stage J, and the next text-form message of session N is sent to the user of the message service,

in some stage of session N, a message is received at the sender address of the message defined in the message in the previous stage, or to an address contained in the message, from the user of the message service, to which is associated at least one order for a service subject to payment and the stage proceeds according to the contents of the message,

the service subject to payment ordered in the previous message is delivered to the user of the message service over some other communications channel than a telephone network, and

if necessary, the next text-form message of the session N is sent to the user of the message service, in such a way that the sender address is altered to correspond to the session number N and the new session stage J.

20. Method according to claim 19 for sending messages in a telecommunications network, said method further comprising;

digital messages, which contain information on the desired reply address, are bulk delivered,

messages, which are sent on the basis of the reply-address information, are received, and

the reply-address information of each bulk-delivered message is altered to correspond to a predefined dialogue, in which the stage of the dialogue determines unequivocally the reply-address information, in which case the sending and reception of the messages are implemented in different parts of the telecommunications system.

21. Method according to claim 19, wherein the desired reply-address information is the sender field of the message.

22. Method according to claim 19, wherein the message is an SMS message.

23. Method according to claim 19, wherein the message is an MMS message.

24. Method according to claim 19, wherein the message is an email message.

25. Method according to claim 19, wherein the replay-address information of the message is altered to be a national address operating in the recipient'"'"'s own country.

44. System for sending messages in a telecommunications network, said system comprises;

means for sending a first text-form message of a session N to a user of the service, in such a way that the sender address is altered to correspond to the session number N and the session stage J,

means for receiving, in stages 2-n of session N, a text-form message for the user of the message service to the sender address defined in the previous stage and proceeding according to the contents of the message, in such a way that the sender address is altered to correspond to the session number N and the new session stage J and to send the next text-form message of the session N to the user of the message service,

means for receiving, in some stage of the session N, from the user of the message service a message to the sender address of the message defined in the message in the previous stage, or to an address contained in the message, to which an order for at least one service subject to payment is attached, and proceeding according to the contents of the message,

wherein a service subject to payment ordered in an earlier message can be delivered to a user of the message service, over some other communications channel than a telephone network, and

wherein, if necessary, the next text-form message of the session N can be sent to the user of the message service, in such a way that the sender address is altered to correspond to the session number N and the new session stage J.

45. System according to claim 44 for sending messages in a telecommunications network, said system further comprises;

means for bulk delivering digital messages, which contain information on the desired reply address),

means for receiving messages which have been sent on the basis of the reply-address information, and

means for altering the reply-address information of each bulk-delivered message to correspond to a predefined dialogue, in which the stage of the dialogue defines unequivocally the reply-address information, in which case the sending and reception of the messages are implemented in different parts of the telecommunications system.

46. System according to claim 44, wherein the desired reply-address information is the sender field of the message.

47. System according to claim 44, wherein the message is an SMS message.
