Abstract

The present invention concerns an analysis system (1) for analyzing at least one continuous query (100) for at least one input data stream (200), wherein the at least one input data stream (200) comprises a sequence of events captured by at least one sensor and wherein the debugging system comprises:

a. an analyzer (10), adapted for executing the at least one continuous query (100) and at least one modified continuous query (100′) on the at least one input data stream (200), for comparing at least one output data stream (300) produced by the at least one continuous query (100) with at least one second output data stream (300′) produced by the at least one modified continuous query (100′) and for indicating at least one difference between the at least one output data stream (300) and the at least one second output data stream (300′);

b. wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for synchronizing the execution of the at least one continuous query (100) and the at least one modified continuous query (100′).

Claims

1. An analysis system (1) for analyzing at least one continuous query (100) for at least one input data stream (200), wherein the at least one input data stream (200) comprises a sequence of events captured by at least one sensor and wherein the analysis system comprises:

a. an analyzer (10), adapted for executing the at least one continuous query (100) and at least one modified continuous query (100′

) on the at least one input data stream (200), for comparing at least one output data stream (300) produced by the at least one continuous query (100) with at least one second output data stream (300′

) produced by the at least one modified continuous query (100′

) and for indicating at least one difference between the at least one output data stream (300) and the at least one second output data stream (300′

);

b. wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for synchronizing the execution of the at least one continuous query (100) and the at least one modified continuous query (100′

).

2. The analysis system (1) of claim 1, wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for waiting for the at least one modified continuous query (100′

) to produce at least one event in the corresponding at least one second output data stream (300′

) and for comparing the at least one produced event with at least one corresponding event in the at least one output data stream (300) produced by the at least one continuous query (100).

3. The analysis system (1) of claim 1, wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for letting a user select at least one synchronization point within the at least one input data stream (200).

4. The analysis system (1) of claim 1, wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for analyzing the at least one continuous query (100) to determine at least one synchronization point within the at least one input data stream (200).

5. The analysis system (1) of claim 1, wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for executing the at least one modified continuous query (100′

) and a copy (100″

) of the at least one continuous query (100) starting at the same event in the at least one input data stream (200).

6. The analysis system (1) of claim 1, further comprising a stream logger (20), adapted for recording the at least one input data stream (200) into at least one recorded input data stream (201), wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for executing the at least one modified continuous query (100′

) on the at least one recorded input data stream (201) followed by the at least one input data stream (200) while it is captured by the at least one sensor.

7. The analysis system (1) of claim 1, further comprising a graphical user interface (GUI) (30), adapted for displaying at least one operator graph (400) of the at least one continuous query (100) and at least one operator graph (400) of the at least one modified continuous query (100′

), wherein the GUI (30) is adapted for highlighting the at least one difference in the at least one operator graphs.

The analysis system (1) of claim 1, further comprising a stream logger (20), adapted for recording the at least one output data stream (300) into at least one recorded output data stream (301), wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for selecting at least one event in the at least one recorded output data stream (301) and for providing access to the corresponding at least one event in at least one recorded input data stream (201).

The analysis system (1) of the preceding claim 8, wherein the analyzer (10) is adapted for re-executing the at least one continuous query (100) on the at least one recorded input data stream (201) starting at the selected at least one event and for logging any intermediate results produced by the at least one continuous query (100).

10. A method for analyzing at least one continuous query (100) for at least one input data stream (200), wherein the at least one input data stream (200) comprises a sequence of events captured by at least one sensor and wherein the method comprises the following steps:

a. executing the at least one continuous query (100) and at least one modified continuous query (100′

) on the at least one input data stream (200), comparing at least one output data stream (300) produced by the at least one continuous query (100) with at least one second output data stream (300′

) produced by the at least one modified continuous query (100′

) and indicating at least one difference between the at least one output data stream (300) and the at least one second output data stream (300′

); and

b. synchronizing the execution of the at least one continuous query (100) and the at least one modified continuous query (100′

).

11. The method of the preceding claim 10, wherein step b. comprises waiting for the at least one modified continuous query (100′

) to produce at least one event in the corresponding at least one second output data stream (300′

) and wherein step a. comprises comparing the at least one produced event with at least one corresponding event in the at least one output data stream (300) produced by the at least one continuous query (100).

12. The method of claim 10, wherein step b. comprises analyzing the at least one continuous query (100) to determine at least one synchronization point within the at least one input data stream (200).

13. The method of claim 10, comprising the step of executing the at least one modified continuous query (100′

) and a copy (100″

) of the at least one continuous query (100) starting at the same event in the at least one input data stream.

14. The method of claim 10, comprising the steps of recording the at least one output data stream (300) into at least one recorded output data stream (301), selecting at least one event in the at least one recorded output data stream (301) and providing access to the corresponding at least one event in at least one recorded input data stream (201).

15. A computer program comprising instructions for implementing a method according to claim 10.
