Abstract

A dishwasher includes a washing chamber surrounded by walls. The walls include a water-impermeable inner wall and an insulation layer. At least a first wall of the walls has in a first region on an outside thereof an emission changing device configured to change an emission of thermal radiation. The emission changing device includes a layer having a variable emissivity.

11. A dishwasher comprising:

a washing chamber surrounded by walls, the walls including a water-impermeable inner wall and an insulation layer, at least a first wall of the walls having disposed in a first region on an outside thereof an emission changing device configured to change an emission of thermal radiation, the emission changing device including a layer having a variable emissivity.

12. The dishwasher as recited in claim 11, wherein the layer is changeable in color.

13. The dishwasher as recited in claim 12, wherein the layer is changeable in color as a function of the temperature thereof.

14. The dishwasher as recited in claim 11, wherein the emissivity of the layer is configured to be changed by pulses from a controller.

15. The dishwasher as recited in claim 14, wherein a color of the layer is configured to be changed by pulses from a controller.

16. The dishwasher as recited in one of claims 11, further comprising tiltable slats disposed on a portion of the outside of the first wall.

17. The dishwasher as recited in claim 16, wherein the slats have a reflective surface and are movable from a closed position to an open position so as to produce a change in the emission of thermal radiation.
