Abstract

A non-rechargeable battery comprising: an anode; a cathode comprising a binder comprising styrene-butadiene rubber; a separator between the anode and the cathode; and an electrolyte contacting the anode, the cathode, and the separator. Such batteries can be used in implantable medical devices.

Claims

1. A non-rechargeable battery comprising:

an anode;

a cathode comprising a binder comprising styrene-butadiene rubber;

a separator between the anode and the cathode; and

an electrolyte contacting the anode, the cathode, and the separator.

2. The battery of claim 1, wherein the cathode comprises a silver vanadium oxide.

3. The battery of claim 2, wherein the cathode comprises a mixture of two or more materials.

4. The battery of claim 3, wherein the cathode material further comprises carbon monofluoride.

5. The battery of claim 1, wherein the cathode comprises carboxy methyl cellulose.

6. An implantable medical device comprising a battery of claim 1.

7. The implantable medical device of claim 6 which is an implantable cardioverter defibrillator device.
