Abstract

The disclosure is directed to a device for fluid sampling. The device may have two panels that are or may be adhered, attached or otherwise connected to opposite sides of a sampling bag having flexible walls. The panels may be used for conveniently inflating or deflating the sampling bag and obtaining fluid samples.

Claims

1. A sampling device, comprising:

at least one substantially rigid panel connected to the flexible walls of a sampling bag.

2. The sampling device of claim 1, comprising two substantially rigid panels and wherein rigid panels are connected in a hinged arrangement at one end.

3. The sampling device of any of claim 1 or 2, wherein the panels are releasable connected to the flexible walls of a sampling bag.

4. The sampling device of any of claim 1 or 2, wherein the panels are permanently connected to the flexible walls of a sampling bag.

5. The sampling device of claim 4, wherein the panels are incorporated into the walls of the sampling bag.

6. The sampling device of any of the preceding claims, comprising a hinged arrangement, wherein the hinged arrangement is capable of maintaining the panels in a substantially parallel relationship as the panels moved apart.

7. The sampling device of claim 1, comprising one substantially rigid panel and one panel with a shape memory.

8. The sampling device of claim 7, wherein the substantially rigid panel and the panel with a shape memory are connected in a hinged arrangement at two opposite ends.

15. The sampling device of any of the preceding claims, wherein at least one panel comprises a handle.

16. The sampling device of any of the preceding claims, wherein each panel comprises a handle.

9. A sampling device, comprising:

a first panel having a shape memory comprising means for adhering the walls of a sampling bag to the panels; and

a second panel having a shape memory comprising means for adhering the walls of a sampling bag to the panels;

wherein the first panel and the second panel are hingedly connected.

10. A sampling device, comprising:

two substantially rigid panels; and

means for adhering the walls of a sampling bag to the panels.

11. The sampling device of claim 10, wherein the rigid panels are connected together in a hinged arrangement at one end.

12. The sampling device of any of claim 10 or 11, wherein the means for adhering are means for releasably adhering.

13. The sampling device of claim 12, wherein the means for releasably adhering is any means for adhering the sampling bag to the surface of the panel sufficiently to keep the bag'"'"'s walls adhered to create enough motive force to drive air into the bag when the panels are moved away.

14. The sampling device of claim 12, wherein the means for releasably adhering is selected from the group comprising temporary adhesive spots sticking to part of the opposite walls of the sampling bag;

vacuum suction mini cups situated on the inner surfaces of the panels;

velcro-type stickers permanently attached on the inner surface of the panels and either temporarily or permanently adhered to the bag'"'"'s walls;

adhesive sprays;

water soluble adhesives such as, but not limited to, thermoplastic water soluble adhesives;

pressure sensitive adhesives;

magnetic flat materials such as, but not limited to magnetic foils;

double adhesive tapes;

other releasable chemical or mechanical adhesives;

or combinations of these.
