Abstract

A caller identity provision system comprises a receiver component that receives a call request, the call request originates from a mobile handset that is associated with multiple numbers. An analysis component analyzes the call request and selects a caller line identification (CLI) from amongst a plurality of CLIs to provide to a called party that is a subject of the call request. For instance, the mobile handset and/or a network server can comprise the receiver component and/or the analysis component.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

an analysis component configured to;

identify a destination telephone number in a telephone call request; and

associate calling line identification information with the telephone call request based on the destination telephone number.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the telephone call request originates from a device configured with a plurality of origination telephone numbers available to originate calls from the device.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the calling line identification information comprises an origination telephone number selected from the plurality of origination telephone numbers.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the analysis component is furthered configured to replace an origination telephone number employed in generation of the telephone call request with a replacement telephone number and include the replacement telephone number in the calling line identification information.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the analysis component is configured to replace the origination telephone number with the replacement telephone number based on an activity associated with a destination of the destination telephone number of the telephone call request.

6. The system of claim 4, wherein the analysis component is configured to replace the origination telephone number with the replacement telephone number based on an identity associated with a destination of the destination telephone number of the telephone call request.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the calling line identification information comprises a name associated with the origination telephone number.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the calling line identification information comprises a plurality of calling line identifications associated with the destination telephone number.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the calling line identification information comprises a calling party identifier selected from a plurality of calling party identifiers.

10. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a receiver component configured to receive the telephone call request.

11. A method comprising:

identifying a destination telephone number of a telephone call request; and

associating a calling line identification with the telephone call request based on the identifying of the destination telephone number.

12. The method of claim 11, further comprising selecting, from a plurality of available origination telephone numbers associated with the telephone call request, an origination telephone number for inclusion in the calling line identification.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the selecting of the origination telephone number includes selecting the origination telephone number as a function of an activity associated with the destination telephone number.

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising supplementing the calling line identification with personal information of an entity associated with the origination telephone number.

15. The method of claim 11, further comprising determining a previous calling line identification previously associated with the destination telephone number including referring to a call history for the destination telephone number.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising generating the calling line identification based on the call history.

17. A computer readable storage medium comprising computer executable instructions that, in response to execution by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations, comprising:

identifying a destination telephone number of a telephone call request;

associating a calling line identification with the telephone call request based on the identifying of the destination telephone number; and

forwarding the calling line identification to the destination telephone number.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 17, wherein the instructions further comprise selecting an origination telephone number from a plurality of origination numbers associated with the telephone call request.

19. The computer readable storage medium of claim 18, wherein the instructions further comprise including the origination telephone number in the calling line identification.

20. The computer readable storage medium of claim 17, wherein the instructions further comprise including, in the calling line identification, entity information associated with a source of the telephone call request.
