Abstract

The invention provides a system for organizing, integrating, coordinating and customizing an individual physical fitness program by employing a set of database management systems, computer platforms and differentiated physical fitness devices and components.

Claims

1. A system to manage an automated exercise machine, comprised of

a physical fitness machine;

a sensor array in the exercise machine;

a computer in the exercise machine, that includes a database and a means to process and store program code;

a robotics component in the exercise machine to move a pin from position to position vertically;

wherein the sensors in the exercise machine are activated by the user;

wherein the sensors send a signal to the computer in the exercise machine that the user seeks to use a specific configuration of the machine;

wherein program code is organized in the exercise machine computer to activate the robotics component in the exercise machine to move the pin; and

wherein the pin in the exercise machine is automatically moved from one position to another position.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein:

a user customized software program is downloaded to the exercise machine;

the machine computer activates the robotics components; and

the machine robotics component mechanically adjusts the position of the pin.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein:

the pin adjusts on a position along the spine according to a new setting of program parameters.

4. A system to manage an automated exercise machine, comprised of

a physical fitness machine;

a computer in the exercise machine, including a machine video display;

a software system to manage the functions of the exercise machine;

a robotics component in the exercise machine to move a pin from position to position vertically;

a user PDA;

wherein the individual selects a weight setting by accessing the machine video display or PDA;

wherein the machine activates the robotic component; and

wherein the machine adjusts the position of the pin to a new weight setting.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein:

the new weight setting is recorded in the machine computer memory.

6. The system of claim 4, wherein:

a signal is sent from the exercise machine computer to the PDA; and

the new weight setting is recorded in the PDA memory.

7. A system to manage an automated exercise machine, comprised of

a physical fitness machine;

a computer in the exercise machine, including a machine video display;

a software system to manage the functions of the exercise machine, including data storage;

a robotics component in the exercise machine to move a pin from position to position vertically;

a user PDA;

wherein the PDA sends a software application to the exercise machine;

wherein the software application activates a specific function in the computer of the exercise machine;

wherein the user uses the exercise machine at a specific setting; and

wherein the performance of the user is recorded and stored by the exercise machine computer.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein:

the exercise machine computer sends a signal to the user PDA; and

the performance of the user on the exercise machine is recorded in the PDA.

9. The system of claim 7, wherein:

the exercise machine computer sends a signal on the user'"'"'s experience to a website database; and

the data on the user'"'"'s experience are modeled.

10. The system of claim 9 wherein:

the model is compared to specific program parameters; and

the individual'"'"'s exercise program is modified.
