Abstract

Systems and methods for curating content. In one embodiment, a method for curating content from a set of third party webpages can be provided. The method can include aggregating content from the third party webpages, receiving an indication that content from one or more of the third party webpages has been selected, receiving an indication of a selected interface position for at least a portion of the selected content, and outputting an interface with the portion of selected content in the selected interface position.

Claims

1. A method for selecting and curating content from a set of third party webpages, the method comprising:

aggregating content from the third party webpages;

receiving an indication that content from one or more of the third party webpages has been selected;

receiving an indication of a selected interface position for at least a portion of the selected content; and

outputting an interface with the portion of selected content in the selected interface position.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein aggregating content from the third party webpages comprises at least one of:

storing content from the third party webpages in at least one data storage device, storing links to the third party webpages in at least one data storage device, or facilitating access to content from the third party webpages via at least one proxy tool.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein aggregating content from the third party webpages further comprises permitting a user to browse the aggregated content.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing a drag and drop tool for a user to select content from the third party webpages and to select a desired interface position for the selected content.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing an access control tool for a user to select at least one of the following criteria associated with the selected content;

exclusion of the selected content from a webpage or a website, exclusion duration for the selected content, publication time for the selected content, and number of webpages to populate with the selected content.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

providing a content filter tool for a user to filter selected content based at least in part on keyword, consumer preferences, consumer maturity or appropriateness ratings, or consumer popularity.

The method of claim 1, wherein receiving an indication that content from one or more of the third party webpages has been selected, and receiving an indication of a selected interface position for at least a portion of the selected content can be implemented by a drag and drop tool manipulated by a user.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

facilitating publication of the portion of the selected content in the selected interface position to an online user.

9. A system for selecting and curating content from third party webpages, the system comprising:

at least one data storage device operable to store computer-readable instructions;

at least one computer processor operable to execute the computer-readable instructions; and

a set of computer-readable instructions operable to;

aggregate content from the third party webpages;

receive an indication that content from one or more of the third party webpages has been selected;

receive an indication of a selected interface position for at least a portion of the selected content; and

output an interface with the portion of selected content in the selected interface position.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable instructions operable to aggregate content from the third party webpages further comprise computer-readable instructions operable to perform at least one of:

storing content from the third party webpages in at least one data storage device, storing links to the third party webpages in at least one data storage device, or facilitating access to content from the third party webpages via at least one proxy tool.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable instructions operable to aggregate content from the third party webpages further comprise computer-readable instructions operable to permit a user to browse the aggregated content.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable instructions are further operable to:

provide a drag and drop tool for a user to select content from the third party webpages and to select a desired interface position for the selected content.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable instructions are further operable to:

provide an access control tool for a user to select at least one of the following criteria associated with the selected content;

exclusion of the selected content from a webpage or a website, exclusion duration for the selected content, publication time for the selected content, and number of webpages to populate with the selected content.

14. The system of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable instructions are further operable to:

provide a content filter tool for a user to filter selected content based at least in part on keyword, consumer preferences, consumer maturity ratings, or consumer popularity.

The system of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable instructions operable to receive an indication that content from one or more of the third party webpages has been selected, and to receive an indication of a selected interface position for at least a portion of the selected content can be implemented by a drag and drop tool manipulated by a user.

16. The system of claim 9, wherein the computer-readable instructions are further operable to:

facilitate publication of the interface to an online user via at least one network.

17. A method for selecting and curating content from third party webpages for publication on a webpage of interest, the system comprising:

browsing aggregated content;

selecting a portion of the aggregated content;

selecting a desired interface position for the selected content;

viewing the selected content in the desired interface position; and

publishing a webpage with the selected content in the selected interface position.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein selecting a portion of the aggregated content and selecting a desired interface position for the selected content are performed using a drag and drop tool.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein browsing aggregated content is performed in a first browser application window, and viewing the selected content in the desired interface position is performed in a second browser application window.

20. A system for selecting and curating content from third party webpages for publication on a webpage of interest, the system comprising:

at least one data storage device operable to store computer-readable instructions;

at least one computer processor operable to execute the computer-readable instructions; and

a set of computer-readable instructions operable to;

browsing aggregated content, wherein browsing aggregated content is performed in a first browser application window, and viewing the selected content in the desired interface position is performed in a second browser application window;

selecting a portion of the aggregated content, wherein selecting a portion of the aggregated content and selecting a desired interface position for the selected content are performed using a drag and drop tool;

selecting a desired interface position for the selected content;

viewing the selected content in the desired interface position; and

publishing a webpage with the selected content in the selected interface position.
