Abstract

The present invention relates to an electronic document reproduction apparatus and method. According to an embodiment, the method includes displaying at least a portion of a current page of a document on a first region of the display unit; receiving, via the input unit, a touch input on a second region of the display unit; displaying information regarding a preview page of the document in response to the touch input; receiving, via the input unit, a drag input associated with the touch input; changing, by the controller, the displayed information to new information regarding a new preview page based on a dragging distance of the drag input, the new information including a page number being changed based on the dragging distance of the drag input; and displaying, on the first region, the new preview page corresponding to the changed page number in response to a release input associated with the drag input.

Claims

1. An electronic device, comprising:

a display unit configured to display at least a portion of a current page of a document on a first region of the display unit;

an input unit configured to receive a touch input; and

a controller configured for cooperating with the display unit to;

receive, via the input unit, a touch input on a second region of the display unit;

display information regarding a preview page of the document in response to the touch input;

receive, via the input unit, a drag input associated with the touch input;

change the displayed information to new information regarding a new preview page based on a dragging distance of the drag input, the new information including a page number being changed based on the dragging distance of the drag input; and

display, on the first region, the new preview page corresponding to the changed page number in response to a release input associated with the drag input.

2. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the drag input is received in a specific direction on the second region.

3. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second region to which the touch input is received is located below the first region.

4. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page includes a title or a page number of the preview page.

5. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page includes a specified content of the preview page.

6. The electronic device as claimed in claim 5, wherein the specified content of the preview page is at least one of an image and a table associated with the preview page.

7. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the controller is configured to detect a dragging direction of the drag input and to change the page number of the new preview page based on the dragging distance and the dragging direction of the drag input.

8. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein as a dragging of the drag input occurs towards a leftward direction, the page number being changed is decreased.

9. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the drag input and the touch input is a touch-and-drag input.

10. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the touch input is a touch of a graphical image on the second region of the display unit.

11. The electronic device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page includes a position indicator indicating a position of the preview page among an entire volume of the document.

12. The electronic device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page further includes a page number of the preview page.

13. A method for controlling an electronic device including a display unit, an input unit and a controller, the method comprising:

displaying at least a portion of a current page of a document on a first region of the display unit;

receiving, via the input unit, a touch input on a second region of the display unit;

displaying information regarding a preview page of the document in response to the touch input;

receiving, via the input unit, a drag input associated with the touch input;

changing, by the controller, the displayed information to new information regarding a new preview page based on a dragging distance of the drag input, the new information including a page number being changed based on the dragging distance of the drag input; and

displaying, on the first region, the new preview page corresponding to the changed page number in response to a release input associated with the drag input.

14. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the drag input is received in a specific direction on the second region.

15. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the second region to which the touch input is received is located below the first region.

16. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page includes a title or a page number of the preview page.

17. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page includes a specified content of the preview page.

18. The method as claimed in claim 17, wherein the specified content of the preview page is at least one of an image and a table associated with the preview page.

19. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the changing step includes detecting a dragging direction of the drag input and changing the page number of the new preview page based on the dragging distance and the dragging direction of the drag input.

20. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein as a dragging of the drag input occurs towards a leftward direction, the page number being changed is decreased.

21. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the drag input and the touch input is a touch-and-drag input.

22. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the touch input is a touch of a graphical image on the second region of the display unit.

23. The method as claimed in claim 13, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page includes a position indicator indicating a position of the preview page among an entire volume of the document.

24. The method as claimed in claim 23, wherein the displayed information regarding the preview page further includes a page number of the preview page.
