Abstract

A device for cranial implantation, comprising a ferrule and a plate for placement in the ferrule is provided. Furthermore, a neurological implant system comprising a probe and a device for cranial implantation is provided.

Claims

1. A device (10) for cranial implantation allowing for adjustment of positioning of a probe, comprising

a ferrule (11, 21) forming a first hole there through,

a plate (12, 22) for placement in the ferrule (11, 21), said plate (12, 22) being provided with a second hole, such that said first hole and said second hole at least partly coincide enabling accommodation of said probe when said plate (12, 22) is placed in said ferrule (11, 21).

The device (20) according to claim 1, wherein said plate (22) is configured with an outer structure comprising protrusions (23), and the ferrule (21) is configured with a structure (24) for receiving the outer structure of the plate (22), such that when said plate (22) is placed in said ferrule (21) the plate (22) is prevented from rotating in relation to said ferrule (21).

The device (10) according to claim 1, wherein said plate (12) is configured with an outer structure with a smooth surface, and the ferrule (11) is configured with a structure for receiving the outer structure of the plate (12), such that when said plate (12) is placed in said ferrule (11), said plate is slidably rotable in relation to said ferrule (11).

4. The device (10) according to claim 1, wherein the second hole is circular.

5. The device (10) according to claim 1, wherein the second hole is a slot.

6. The device (10, 20) according to claim 1, wherein the ferrule (11, 21) is fixed to the cranium (13).

7. The device (40) according to claim 1, comprising electronics (42) and a power source (43) inside the ferrule and a lid (41) for closing the ferrule towards the scalp.

8. The device (40) according to claim 7, wherein the lid (41) is fixed to the ferrule (11).

9. The device (40) for cranial implantation according to claim 7, wherein the ferrule (11), the plate (12) and the lid (41) are made by Titanium.

10. A neurological implant system comprising a probe (16) and a device (10, 20, 30) for cranial implantation according to claim 1.

11. The neurological implant system according to claim 10, wherein the probe (16) is a deep brain stimulation probe.

12. Use of a device (10, 20, 30) for cranial implantation according to claim 1, for adjustment of positioning of a deep brain stimulation probe.
