1. A method for handling tablet input, the method comprising:
- receiving a message, including a signature from a digitizer, that differentiates between touch input, made via a finger, and pen input;
exchanging the received message with an input sink of a client side application;
determining that the received message represents touch input made via a finger based upon a tablet name, wherein a portion of the tablet name includes a term identifying the tablet as a touch tablet; and
when a determination has been made that touch input, made via a finger, has been received, the client side application providing a touch specific option and disabling areas of a user interface not affected by touch input.
