Abstract

A computer-readable medium, computer-implemented method, and system are provided. In one embodiment, an original executable process is executed in a regular mode. When a change request is received, the original executable process is stopped, and a new executable process is created. The new executable process is then executed in a change mode.

Claims

1. A computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to orchestrate an order, the instructions comprising:

executing an original executable process in a regular mode;

receiving a change request;

stopping the original executable process;

creating a new executable process that references the original executable process; and

executing the new executable process in a change mode.

2. The computer-readable medium of claim 1,

wherein executing the original executable process in the regular mode further comprises executing one or more steps of the original executable process, and

wherein executing the new executable process in the change mode further comprises automatically adjusting one or more steps of the original executable process that have been executed.

3. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, the instructions further comprising:

transitioning from the change mode to the regular mode; and

executing the new executable process in the regular mode for one or more steps of the new executable process that correspond to one or more steps of the original executable process that were not previously executed.

4. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, wherein the change request comprises a new order which references an original order that is processed by the original executable process.

5. The computer-readable medium of claim 4, wherein the new order comprises modifications to the original order.

6. The computer-readable medium of claim 4, the instructions further comprising:

creating an original order object which represents the original order; and

creating a new order object which represents the new order,

wherein the new order object references the original order object.

7. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, wherein the change request is received from a client interface.

8. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, the instructions further comprising checking to see if a change is allowed for the original executable process.

9. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, the instructions further comprising checking to see if a change is allowed for an original order which corresponds to the original executable process.

10. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, wherein the stopping the original executable process comprises terminating the original executable process.

11. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, wherein the stopping the original executable process comprises pausing the original executable process.

12. A computer-implemented method for orchestrating an order, the computer-implemented method comprising:

executing an original executable process in a regular mode;

receiving a change request;

stopping the original executable process;

creating a new executable process that references the original executable process; and

executing the new executable process in a change mode.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 12,

wherein executing the original executable process in the regular mode further comprises executing one or more steps of the original executable process, and

wherein executing the new executable process in the change mode further comprises automatically adjusting one or more steps of the original executable process that have been executed.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 13, further comprising:

transitioning from the change mode to the regular mode; and

executing the new executable process in the regular mode for one or more steps of the new executable process that correspond to one or more steps of the original executable process that were not previously executed.

15. An orchestration system, comprising:

a processor;

an orchestration module configured to execute an original executable process in a regular mode;

a decomposition module configured to receive a change request,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to stop the original executable process,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to create a new executable process that references the original process, and

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to execute the new executable process in a change mode.

16. The orchestration system of claim 15,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to execute the original executable process in the regular mode by executing one or more steps of the original executable process, and

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to execute the new executable process in the change mode by automatically adjusting one or more steps of the original executable process that have been executed.

17. The orchestration system of claim 16, wherein the orchestration module is further configured to transition from the change mode to the regular mode, and

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to execute the new executable process in the regular mode for one or more steps of the new executable process that correspond to one or more steps of the original executable process that were not previously executed.

18. A computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to orchestrate an order, the instructions comprising:

receiving a change request;

determining whether the change request applies to an original executable process or applies to an original line executable process of one or more original line executable processes;

when the change request applies to the original executable process, creating a new executable process and executing the new executable process in a change mode; and

when the change request applies to an original line executable process of the one or more original line executable processes, creating a new line executable process which corresponds to the original line executable process and executing the new line executable process in a change mode.

19. The computer-readable medium of claim 18,

wherein executing the new executable process in the change mode further comprises automatically adjusting one or more steps of the original executable process that have been executed, and

wherein executing the new line executable process in the change mode further comprises automatically adjusting one or more steps of the corresponding original line executable process that have been executed.

20. The computer-readable medium of claim 19, the instructions further comprising:

transitioning from the change mode to a regular mode;

executing the new executable process in the regular mode for one or more steps of the new executable process that correspond to one or more steps of the original executable process that were not previously executed; and

for each new line executable process, executing the new line executable processes in the regular mode for one or more steps of the new line executable processes that correspond to one or more steps of the corresponding original line executable processes that were not previously executed.

21. The computer-readable medium of claim 18, wherein when the change request only applies to an original line executable process of the one or more original line executable processes only the new line executable process is executed in the change mode.

22. A computer-implemented method for orchestrating an order, the computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving a change request;

determining whether the change request applies to an original executable process or applies to an original line executable process of one or more original line executable processes;

when the change request applies to the original executable process, creating a new executable process and executing the new executable process in a change mode; and

when the change request applies to an original line executable process of the one or more original line executable processes, creating a new line executable process which corresponds to the original line executable process and executing the new line executable process in the change mode.

23. The computer-implemented method of claim 22, wherein when the change request only applies to an original line executable process of the one or more original line executable processes, only the new line executable process is executed in the change mode.

24. An orchestration system, comprising:

a processor;

a decomposition module configured to receive a change request;

an orchestration module configured to determine whether the change request applies to an original executable process or applies to an original line executable process of one or more original line executable processes,

wherein, when the change request applies to the original executable process, the orchestration module is further configured to create a new executable process and execute the new executable process in a change mode, and

wherein, when the change request applies to an original line executable process of the one or more original line executable processes, the orchestration module is further configured to create a new line executable process which corresponds to the original line executable process and execute the new line executable process in the change mode.

25. The orchestration system of claim 24, wherein when the change request only applies to an original line executable process of the one or more original line executable processes, the orchestration module is further configured to execute only the new line executable process in the change mode.
