Abstract

A computer-readable medium, computer-implemented method, and system are provided. In one embodiment, a rollback checkpoint for a step in an executable process is established, and the executable process is executed. A change request is received, and the step with the established rollback checkpoint is adjusted. Any subsequent steps of the executable process are also adjusted.

Claims

1. A computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to utilize a rollback checkpoint in a distributed order orchestration system, the instructions comprising:

establishing a rollback checkpoint for a step in an executable process;

executing the executable process;

receiving a change request;

adjusting the step with the established rollback checkpoint; and

adjusting any subsequent steps of the executable process.

2. The computer-readable medium of claim 1, the instructions further comprising:

establishing one or more rollback checkpoints for one or more steps in the executable process; and

selecting a rollback checkpoint from the one or more rollback checkpoints,

wherein the adjusting the step with the established rollback checkpoint further comprises adjusting the step with the selected rollback checkpoint.

3. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, wherein the selecting the rollback checkpoint further comprises selecting a most recent rollback checkpoint.

4. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, wherein the selecting the rollback checkpoint further comprises selecting the rollback checkpoint based on a selection of a user.

5. The computer-readable medium of claim 2, wherein the selecting the rollback checkpoint further comprises selecting a most recent rollback checkpoint where there are no steps between the most recent rollback checkpoint and an immediate subsequently rollback checkpoint.

6. The computer-readable medium of claim 4, wherein the selection of the user is captured via a user interface.

7. A computer-implemented method for utilizing a rollback checkpoint in a distributed order orchestration system, the computer-implemented method comprising:

establishing a rollback checkpoint for a step in an executable process;

executing the executable process;

receiving a change request;

adjusting the step with the established rollback checkpoint; and

adjusting any subsequent steps of the executable process.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 7, further comprising:

establishing one or more rollback checkpoints for one or more steps in the executable process; and

selecting a rollback checkpoint from the one or more rollback checkpoints,

wherein the adjusting the step with the established rollback checkpoint further comprises adjusting the step with the selected rollback checkpoint.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 8, wherein the selecting the rollback checkpoint further comprises selecting a most recent rollback checkpoint.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 8, wherein the selecting the rollback checkpoint further comprises selecting the rollback checkpoint based on a selection of a user.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 8, wherein the selecting the rollback checkpoint further comprises selecting a most recent rollback checkpoint where there are no steps between the most recent rollback checkpoint and an immediate subsequently rollback checkpoint.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 10, wherein the selection of the user is captured via a user interface.

13. An orchestration system, comprising:

a processor; and

an orchestration module configured to establish a rollback checkpoint for a step in an executable process,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to execute the executable process,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to receive a change request,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to adjust the step with the established rollback checkpoint, and

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to adjust any subsequent steps of the executable process.

14. The orchestration system of claim 13,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to establish one or more rollback checkpoints for one or more steps in the executable process,

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to select a rollback checkpoint from the one or more rollback checkpoints, and

wherein the orchestration module is further configured to adjust the step with the selected rollback checkpoint.

15. The orchestration system of claim 14, wherein the orchestration module is further configured to select a most recent rollback checkpoint.

16. The orchestration system of claim 14, wherein the orchestration module is further configured to select the rollback checkpoint based on a selection of a user.

17. The orchestration system of claim 14, wherein the orchestration module is further configured to select a most recent rollback checkpoint where there are no steps between the most recent rollback checkpoint and an immediate subsequently rollback checkpoint.

18. The orchestration system of claim 16, wherein the selection of the user is captured via a user interface.
