1. A system for monitoring a patient, comprising:

  • a mechanical housing configured to be worn on the patient'"'"'s body;

    a flexible strap connected to the mechanical housing and configured to wrap around a portion of the patient'"'"'s body;

    a vital sign monitor comprised by the mechanical housing and comprising at least one vital sign sensor configured to measure at least one of a vital sign value and a signal used to calculate a vital sign value;

    a processing component configured to receive data input from the vital sign sensor;

    a display device controlled by the processing component and configured to render at least two graphical user interfaces, with each graphical user interface comprising at least one screen, the first graphical user interface configured to display at least one of the vital sign value and the signal used to calculate the vital sign value, and the second graphical user interface configured to display content relating to at least one of entertainment, food service, games, and photographs; and

    a wireless transmitter configured to transmit information received by the processing component over a wireless interface.
