1. A bladed panel system comprising:
- a chassis including a backplane;
a plurality of blades coupled to the chassis, each blade including at least one rear port configured to receive a first media segment and a plurality of front ports configured to receive a plurality of second media segments, each blade being separately moveable relative to the chassis between a closed position and at least a first extended position, each blade including a circuit board arrangement and a plurality of smart couplers that define the front ports, the circuit board arrangement of each blade being configured to electrically connect the respective smart couplers to the backplane of the chassis, each blade also including a connection arrangement including a flexible cable that enables the respective circuit board arrangement to remain electrically connected to the backplane during movement of the blade between the closed and first extended positions.

A fiber panel system includes a chassis including a backplane; and at least a first blade configured to mount to the chassis. The first blade is moveable relative to the chassis between a refracted (closed) position and at least one extended position. The first blade includes a coupler arrangement for connecting together media segments. The first blade remains electrically connected to the backplane of the chassis when moving between the retracted and extended positions.

a base having a front, a rear, a first side, and a second side; a circuit board arrangement coupled to the base; a plurality of front couplers coupled to the circuit board arrangement at the front of the blade, the front couplers defining a plurality of front ports, each front coupler including a media reading interface, the front couplers being divided into a first group at the first side of the base and a second group at the second side of the base, the second group being spaced a distance from the first group; a blade processor coupled to the circuit board arrangement at the front of the blade in the distance between the first and second groups of front couplers, the blade processor being electrically connected to the media reading interfaces of the front couplers via the circuit board arrangement; and a connection arrangement coupled to the base, the connection arrangement including an electrical cable having a first end and a second end, the first end being electrically connected to the circuit board arrangement, the electrical cable being sufficiently flexible to enable the second end to fold into and out of a half-loop configuration when the front couplers move relative to the second end of the electrical cable. - View Dependent Claims (48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63)

A method of cabling a bladed panel including a plurality of blades that are coupled to a chassis so as to be separately moveable between closed and extended positions, the chassis including a backplane, each blade including a plurality of smart couplers and a circuit board arrangement that connects to the smart couplers to the backplane, the method comprising:
