A prodrug compound of a rapamycin analog and methods for inhibiting, treating, and preventing mammalian diseases.

3. A method for inhibiting, treating and/or preventing restenosis in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

4. A method for inhibiting, treating and/or preventing autoimmune diseases in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

5. A method for inhibiting, treating and/or preventing post-transplant-tissue transplant rejection in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

6. A method for inhibiting, treating and/or preventing fungal growth in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

7. A method for inhibiting, treating and/or preventing cancer in a mammal in need of treatment using the compound of claim 1.

8. A polymer coating comprising the compound of claim 1.

9. A device comprising the polymer coating of claim 8.

10. A stent comprising the polymer coating of claim 8.

11. A device comprising the compound of claim 1.

12. A stent comprising the compound of claim 1.

13. A method of treating or preventing a disease in a manual comprising the step of administering the device or stent of any of claims 9-13 to the manual.
