Abstract

Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for predicting the subject, logistics, and resources of associated with a communication event. Predictions and suggestions can occur prior to, during, or in response to communication events. The user can confirm the prediction or suggestion via user input such as a click or a voice command. The system can analyze past behavior patterns with respect to the subject, logistics and resources of communication events, followed by preparing ranked listings of which subjects, logistics, and resources are most likely to be used in a given situation. The predicted logistics may then include people to invite, time and date of the meeting, its duration, location, and anything else useful in helping potential participants gather together. The resources may include files attached, files used, communication event minutes, recordings made, Internet browsers and other programs which may be utilized by the user.

Claims

1. A method of providing predictive data for a communication event, the method comprising:

Analyzing, via a processor, a communication history, a document usage history, and a meeting schedule associated with a user to yield an analysis;

ranking, via the processor, subjects, logistics, and resources that the user is likely to use for the communication event based at least in part on the analysis to yield a ranked subjects list, a ranked logistics list, and a ranked resources list;

creating a new communication event invitation, having a subject field, a logistics field, and a resources field, wherein the subject field, the logistics field, and the resources field are populated based on the ranked subjects list, the ranked logistics list, and the ranked resources list;

receiving input from the user associated with at least one of the subject field, the logistics field, and the resources field; and

updating the new communication event invitation based on the input received from the user.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the new communication event invitation is one of manually generated by the user and automatically generated by a computing device.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the new communication event invitation is generated in response to a prior event.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the input received from the user associated with at least one of the subject field, the logistics field, and the resources field comprises at least one of accepting, modifying, and deleting.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the ranked logistics list comprises at least one of a contact, an invitee, a location, a time, a duration, and a message.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving additional input from the user;

iteratively updating the new communication event invitation based on the additional input.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the subject field, the logistics field, and the resources fields are populated following rules established by the user.

8. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform steps comprising:

analyzing, via a processor, a communication history, a document usage history, and a meeting schedule associated with a user to yield an analysis;

ranking, via a processor, subjects, logistics, and resources that the user is likely to use for the communication event based at least in part on the analysis to yield a ranked subjects list, a ranked logistics list, and a ranked resources list; and

while in a communication event, performing the steps comprising;

detecting a current communication context;

suggesting predicted resources from the ranked resources list to the user; and

updating the analysis based on user interactions with the predicted resources.

9. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, wherein the predicted resources comprises at least one of a program, a document, data, and metadata.

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, wherein the program comprises at least one of an instant messenger, a notepad, a word processor, a spreadsheet editor, a presentation editor, a document reader, an audio recorder, a video recorder, a scheduler, a browser and a game.

11. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, wherein the document comprises at least one of a word processor file, a spreadsheet, a presentation file, a sound file, a video file, a contact and minutes from a previous communication event.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, further comprising:

wherein upon clicking on a name of another communication event attendee, displaying resources associated with that attendee.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, wherein the predicted resources include at least one of an audio recorder and a video recorder.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, further comprising:

receiving additional input from the user;

iteratively updating the predicted resources based on the additional input.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, wherein the suggestions made are based on rules provided by the user.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 8, wherein the suggestions made are based on the actions of other participants in the meeting.

17. A system of providing predictive communication event data, the method comprising:

a processor;

a first module analyzing a communication history of a user, document usage, and meeting schedule to yield an analysis;

a second module ranking subjects, logistics, and resources that the user is likely to use for the communication event based at least in part on the analysis to yield a ranked subjects list, a ranked logistics list, and a ranked resources list;

a third module which, while not in a communication event, performs steps comprising;

creating a new communication event invitation, having a subject field, a logistics field, and a resources field;

posting suggested fields for the subject field, the logistics field, and the resources field from the ranked subjects list, the ranked logistics list, and the ranked resources list;

receiving input from the user associated with one of the subject field, the logistics field, the resources field, and the confirmation field; and

updating the new communication event invitation based on the input received from the user; and

a fourth module which, while in a communication event, performs steps comprising;

detecting current communication context;

predicting resource usage based on communication context, the ranked subjects list, the ranked logistics list, and the ranked resources list, yielding predicted resources;

suggesting the predicted resources to the user;

receiving input from the user associated with a suggested resource; and

updating the ranked subjects list, the ranked logistics, and the ranked resources lists based on the input received from the user associated with the suggested resource.

18. The system of claim 17, further comprising:

the third module receiving additional input from the user;

the third module iteratively updating the suggested fields for the subject field, the logistics field, and the resources field from based on user interactions

19. The system of claim 17, further comprising:

the fourth module receiving additional input from the user;

the fourth module iteratively updating the suggested predicted resources based on the additional input based on user interactions with the predicted resources.

20. The system of claim 17, further comprising:

a fifth module which communicates with the third and fourth modules rules for the suggesting of subject fields, logistics fields, and resource fields.
