1. A method for supporting a urethra of a patient, the method comprising:
- making an incision on an upper wall of a vagina of the patient;
inserting a first end of a surgical implant through the incision and on a first side of a urethra of the patient, the first end including a first fixing zone having a retaining portion that is absorbable and formed of a fiber entanglement and a mesh;
anchoring the first fixing zone in soft tissue of a pelvis without penetrating a rectus sheath;
inserting a second end of the surgical implant through the incision and on a second side of the urethra such that a supporting zone of the surgical implant is located beneath the urethra, the second end including a second fixing zone having a retaining portion that is absorbable and formed of a fiber entanglement and a mesh and the supporting zone of the surgical implant being formed of a mesh and being interposed between the first and second fixing zones; and
anchoring the second fixing zone in soft tissue of the pelvis without penetrating the rectus sheath, the first and second fixing zones being anchored such that the supporting zone passes loosely under the urethra.
