Abstract

The invention includes structures and schema for organizing and inter-relating objects, data, or files, including relational, network, hierarchical, and entity-relationship models, among others, that are dynamic, that is changing with time. This includes manipulating structures by conversion, compression, compaction, and compilation, for various purposes. Also included is generating structures for storing, organizing, and managing dynamic objects for retrieval and presentation.

A discussion group for collaborative participants is also provided. A time-based dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects is stored. Each dynamic objects comprises a plurality of predefined attribute fields. Requested dynamic objects are assembled in real time so that the requested dynamic objects are displayed on the basis of the start-time attribute field of each requested dynamic object. A different threaded discussion associated with the each displayed requested dynamic object is provided with each displayed requested dynamic object based on the displayed requested dynamic object'"'"'s start time.

Claims

1. A method for managing data, comprising:

storing a dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects, wherein each dynamic objects comprises a plurality of predefined attribute fields;

providing a user interface for editing the dynamic objects, including modifying attributes in the predefined attribute fields;

indexing the dynamic objects by indexing attributes in the predefined attribute fields;

using the indexed attributes to generate a search engine result in a search engine.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein using the indexed attributes to generate a search engine result in a search engine further comprises using the indexed attributes belonging to a subset of the dynamic objects.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein modifying attributes in the predefined attribute fields further comprises determining categories of searchability.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein storing the dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects includes storing a user identifier.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein storing the dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects includes storing a place identifier.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the user interface further comprises areas where the predefined attribute fields can be modified by one or more collaborative participant.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein generating a search engine result in a search engine is based on when the modification of the attributes of one or more predefined attribute fields occurred.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein generating a search engine result in a search engine is based on a place identifier.

9. A system for managing data, comprising:

a storage component capable of storing a dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects, wherein each dynamic objects comprises a plurality of predefined attribute fields;

a server component capable of providing a user interface for editing the dynamic objects, including modifying attributes in the predefined attribute fields;

a database component capable of indexing the dynamic objects by indexing attributes in the predefined attribute fields; and

a search engine component capable of using the indexed attributes to generate a search engine result.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the search engine component uses the indexed attributes belonging to a subset of the dynamic objects to generate a search engine result in a search engine.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein the user interface for editing the dynamic objects allows for determining categories of searchability.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the storage component stores a user identifier associated with one or more dynamic objects.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the storage component stores a place identifier associated with one or more dynamic objects.

14. The system of claim 9, wherein the user interface includes areas where the predefined attribute fields can be modified by one or more collaborative participant.

15. The system of claim 9, wherein the search engine component generates a search engine result based on when the modification of the attributes of one or more predefined attribute fields occurred.

16. The system of claim 9, wherein the search engine component generates a search engine result based on a place identifier.

17. A non-transitory processor readable medium for managing data, the medium comprising instructions that when executed by a processor causes the processor to perform actions that comprise:

storing a dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects, wherein each dynamic objects comprises a plurality of predefined attribute fields;

providing a user interface for editing the dynamic objects, including modifying attributes in the predefined attribute fields;

indexing the dynamic objects by indexing attributes in the predefined attribute fields; and

using the indexed attributes to generate a search engine result in a search engine.

18. The processor readable medium of claim 17, wherein modifying attributes in the predefined attribute fields further comprises determining categories of searchability.

19. The processor readable medium of claim 17, wherein storing the dynamic object within a plurality of stored dynamic objects includes storing a user identifier or place identifier.

20. The processor readable medium of claim 17, wherein generating a search engine result in a search engine is based on when the modification of the attributes of one or more predefined attribute fields occurred.
