Abstract

A method includes selecting an arrangement of foam springs, the arrangement that matches user-selected firmness requirements; attaching foam springs to a foam panel in a removable, replaceable manner; and inserting the foam springs and the foam panel into a containment facility. A mattress includes foam springs; a foam panel to which an arrangement of the foam springs is attached in a removable, replaceable manner; a containment facility within which the foam springs and the foam panel are disposed; and a side rail with indentations within which sides of at least some of the foam springs are disposed. The mattress may also include a fabric webbing, attached to the containment facility, within which some of the foam springs are disposed in a removable, replaceable manner; and an attachment device attaching together at least two of the foam springs.

Claims

1. A method of foam spring configuration, comprising:

selecting an arrangement of foam springs, the arrangement matching user-selected firmness requirements;

attaching foam springs to a foam panel in a removable, replaceable manner; and

inserting the foam springs and the foam panel into a containment facility.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

inserting at least some of the foam springs into indentations of a side rail adapted to receive, hold, and release sides of the foam springs.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein inserting further includes zipping closed the containment facility after inserting the foam springs and the foam panel into the containment facility.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein:

selecting the arrangement includes outputting a schematic showing the foam springs placed within the containment facility.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein inserting the foam springs into the containment facility includes individually inserting the foam springs into an opening in a fabric webbing of the containment facility, the fabric webbing securing the foam springs, in a removable and replaceable manner, in predetermined locations within the containment facility.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising using an attachment device to attach together at least two of the foam springs.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the attachment device includes a snap, and wherein using the attachment device includes snapping together the at least two of the foam springs.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein the attachment device includes a hook and loop fastener, and wherein using the attachment device includes pressing together the at least two of the foam springs.

9. The method of claim 6, wherein the attachment device includes a glue, and wherein using the attachment device includes gluing together the at least two of the foam springs.

10. A mattress, comprising:

foam springs;

a foam panel to which an arrangement of the foam springs is attached in a removable, replaceable manner;

a containment facility within which the foam springs and the foam panel are disposed; and

a side rail with indentations within which sides of at least some of the foam springs are disposed.

11. The mattress of claim 10, further comprising a schematic showing the arrangement.

12. The mattress of claim 10, further comprising a fabric webbing, attached to the containment facility, within which some of the foam springs are disposed in a removable, replaceable manner.

13. The mattress of claim 10, further comprising an attachment device attaching together at least two of the foam springs.

14. The mattress of claim 13, wherein the attachment device includes a snap.

15. The mattress of claim 13, wherein the attachment device includes a hook and loop fastener.

16. The mattress of claim 13, wherein the attachment device includes a glue.

17. A mattress, comprising:

foam springs;

a foam panel to which an arrangement of the foam springs is attached in a removable, replaceable manner;

a containment facility within which the foam springs and the foam panel are disposed;

a side rail with indentations within which sides of at least some of the foam springs are disposed;

a fabric webbing, attached to the containment facility, within which some of the foam springs are disposed in a removable, replaceable manner; and

an attachment device attaching together at least two of the foam springs.

18. The mattress of claim 17, wherein the attachment device includes a snap.

19. The mattress of claim 17, wherein the attachment device includes a hook and loop fastener.

20. The mattress of claim 17, wherein the attachment device includes a glue.
