Abstract

A system and method for speech file processing which provides users with differentially selectable speech file transcripts which can be sent to one or more other users. The speech files may be voicemail messages from which respective voicemail transcripts are created. The voicemail transcripts are provided in a user selectable format from which users may select non-contiguous portions of the transcript.

Claims

1. A method of processing voicemail messages, the method comprising:

transcribing a voicemail message to yield a transcribed voicemail message;

selecting a first portion of the transcribed voicemail message selecting a first recipient;

transmitting the first portion of the transmitted voicemail message to the first recipient in a first message;

selecting a second portion of the transcribed voicemail message, the second portion being noncontiguous to the first portion; and

selecting a second recipient and transmitting the second portion of the transcribed voicemail message to the second recipient in a second message.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first recipient and the second recipient are a same recipient.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein selecting the first portion of the voicemail message and selecting the second portion of the voicemail message is performed by a sender.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing access to one of the first recipient and the second recipient to an audible version of the voicemail message.

5. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions for controlling a computer device, the instructions comprising:

transcribing a voicemail message to yield a transcribed voicemail message;

selecting a first portion of the transcribed voicemail message selecting a first recipient;

transmitting the first portion of the transmitted voicemail message to the first recipient in a first message;

selecting a second portion of the transcribed voicemail message, the second portion being noncontiguous to the first portion; and

selecting a second recipient and transmitting the second portion of the transcribed voicemail message to the second recipient in a second message.

6. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 5, wherein the first recipient and the second recipient are a same recipient.

7. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 5, wherein selecting the first portion of the voicemail message and selecting the second portion of the voicemail message is performed by a sender.

8. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 5, further comprising providing access to one of the first recipient and the second recipient to an audible version of the voicemail message.

9. A system comprising:

a processor;

a first module configured to control the processor to transcribe a voicemail message to yield a transcribed voicemail message;

a second module configured to control the processor to select a first portion of the transcribed voicemail message selecting a first recipient;

a third module configured to control the processor to transmit the first portion of the transmitted voicemail message to the first recipient in a first message;

a fourth module configured to control the processor to select a second portion of the transcribed voicemail message, the second portion being noncontiguous to the first portion; and

a fifth module configured to control the processor to select a second recipient and transmitting the second portion of the transcribed voicemail message to the second recipient in a second message.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the first recipient and the second recipient are a same recipient.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein selecting the first portion of the voicemail message and selecting the second portion of the voicemail message is performed by a sender.

12. The system of claim 9, further comprising a sixth module configured to control the processor to provide access to one of the first recipient and the second recipient to an audible version of the voicemail message.
