1. An imaging system comprising:

  • a visible light source configured to illuminate a surgical field with visible light;

    an excitation source configured to generate excitation light to excite a fluorescent substance in an organism within the surgical field;

    a first sensor configured to receive visible light reflected from the surgical field via a first spectral channel;

    a second sensor configured to receive a fluorescent emission emitted from the fluorescent substance in the organism via a second spectral channel;

    a plurality of fixed magnification lenses configured to optically couple image signals to the first sensor and the second sensor; and

    a control unit configured to receive and digitally process the image signals to generate a plurality of image frames in order to rescale the plurality of image frames for display to a surgeon.
