First Claim
1. A microinjection apparatus for introducing a transfecting material into a transductant by inserting a minute injection needle into the transductant, the injection needle being filled with the transfecting material therein, which apparatus comprises:
- a container position adjuster for adjusting a position of a container accommodating therein the transductant; and
a plurality of transporters for individually moving a plurality of injection needles to the transductant within the corresponding container, of which position has been adjusted by the container position adjuster;
an imaging device for capturing through a magnifying lens, an image of an inside of the container, of which position has been adjusted by the container position adjuster;
a position determiner for determining a position of the transductant from the image obtained by the imaging device; and
a controller for causing each of the transporters to move the injection needle in dependence on a position information obtained by the position determiner.

Abstract
A microinjection apparatus is designed to introduce the transfecting material into the transductant by inserting a minute injection needle (11) into the transductant and includes a container position adjuster (1), an imaging device (2), a position determiner (3) and a plurality of transporters (4). The container position adjuster adjusts the position of a container (12) accommodating therein the transductant. The imaging device captures through a lens (2a), an image of an inside of the container, which has been adjusted in position by the container position adjuster. The position determiner determines the position of the transductant from the image obtained by the imaging device. The plurality of the transporters are operable to transport the plural injection needles, individually for each of those injection needles, in dependence on the position information obtained by the position determiner.

18. A microinjection method of introducing a transfecting material into a transductant by piercing a minute injection needle, filled with the transfecting material, into the transductant, which method comprises:

a container position adjusting step of adjusting a position of a container accommodating therein the transductant; an imaging step of capturing a plan view image of an inside of the container, the position of which has been adjusted during the container position adjusting step, through a lens; a position determining step of determining a position of the transductant from the image obtained during the imaging step; and a step of individually moving each of a plurality of injection needles by means of a plurality of transporters according to a position information obtained during the position determining step.
