Abstract

A method including sending a device ID and financial information associated with a user of a device to a transaction device in response to receiving a transaction request from the transaction device, configuring an image capture device to capture an image of the user and send the image of the user to the transaction device, and configuring the transaction device to authenticate the financial information with the image of the user.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

sending a device ID and financial information associated with a user of a device to a transaction device in response to receiving a transaction request from the transaction device;

configuring an image capture device to capture an image of the user and send the image of the user to the transaction device; and

configuring the transaction device to authenticate the financial information with the image of the user.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein authenticating the financial information includes the transaction device comparing the captured image of the user to a predefined image of the user associated with the financial information.

3. The method for claim 2 wherein a transaction between the device and the transaction device is authorized if the image of the user matches the predefined image of the user associated with the financial information.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising configuring the device to scan for a transaction request sent from the transaction device.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising selecting a financial information on the device to send to the transaction device.

6. The method of claim 4 wherein the device initiates a file transfer of the device ID and the financial information in response to the receiving the transaction request.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the transaction request is sent by the transaction device in response to a communicating device of the transaction device detecting the device within proximity of the transaction device.

8. A device comprising:

a processor;

a communication component configured to send a device ID and financial information of a user of the device to a transaction device if the device comes within proximity of the transaction device and in response to receiving a transaction request from the transaction device; and

a device application executable by the processor from a computer readable memory and configured to instruct the transaction device to authenticate the financial information with a captured image of the user.

9. The device of claim 8 further comprising a storage device configured to store at least one financial information associated with the user accessing the device.

10. The device of claim 8 further comprising an image capture device configured to capture an image of the user accessing the device.

11. The device of claim 8 wherein the image captured by the image capture device includes at least one from the group consisting of a fingerprint of the user and a face of the user.

12. The device of claim 8 wherein the device ID includes at least one from the group consisting of a cellular ID of the device and an International Mobile Equipment Identity number of the device.

13. The device of claim 8 wherein the communication device includes at least one from the group consisting of an infra red device, a bluetooth device, and a network device.

14. The device of claim 8 wherein the financial information includes at least one from the group consisting of a credit card of the user, a debit card of the user, and a bank account of the user.

15. The device of claim 8 wherein the financial information includes at least one from the group consisting of an account number, an expiration date, a name of the user, a billing address of the user, and a security code for the user.

16. The device of claim 8 wherein the transaction device includes at least one from the group consisting of a cash register and a point of sale device.

17. A computer-readable program in a computer-readable medium comprising:

a device application configured to send a device ID and financial information of a user accessing a device to a transaction device if the device is within proximity of the transaction device and in response to a transaction being requested;

wherein the device application is additionally configured to instruct an image capture device to capture an image of the user; and

wherein the device application is further configured to instruct the transaction device to authenticate the financial information once the transaction device has received the image of the user.

18. The computer-readable program in a computer-readable medium of claim 17 wherein the device application is additionally configured to authenticate the user of the device before sending the device ID and the financial information to the transaction device.

19. The computer-readable program in a computer-readable medium of claim 17 wherein the device application is further configured to receive a receipt of the transaction from the transaction device in response to the financial information being authenticated.

20. The computer-readable program in a computer-readable medium of claim 17 wherein the device application is additionally configured to received an error message from the transaction device if the transaction device fails to authenticate the financial information with the image of the user.
