Abstract

Disclosed herein are a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same, which provide a user with a frame-scale content playback progress status information from the related art time-scale content playback progress status information. As described above, the mobile terminal includes a touch screen configured to display a playback screen of a content including image, and a controller controlling operations associated to a playback of the content. Herein, the controller may detect whether or not a command for displaying a playback progress status of the content in one of a time scale and a frame scale is being inputted. And, when the command is inputted, the controller may switch and display the playback progress status of the content from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a touch screen configured to display a playback screen of a content including image; and

a controller controlling operations associated to a playback of the content,

wherein the controller detects whether or not a command for displaying a playback progress status of the content in one of a time scale and a frame scale is being inputted, and

wherein, when the command is inputted, the controller switches and displays the playback progress status of the content from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa.

2. The mobile terminal of claim 1, further comprising:

a user input unit provided with a switching key, the switching key being configured to switch from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa, and

wherein, when the switching key is inputted, the controller switches the playback progress status of the content from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa.

3. The mobile terminal of claim 1, further comprising:

a motion sensor configured to detect a movement in a main body of the mobile terminal, and

wherein, when the motion gesture for switching the playback progress status of the content from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa, via the motion sensor, the controller switches the playback progress status of the content from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa.

The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein, when a touch gesture for switching the playback progress status of the content from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa, is detected from the touch screen, the controller switches the playback progress status of the content from the time scale to the frame scale, and vice versa.

5. The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller displays the playback progress status of the content in the time scale while the content is being played-back, and displays the playback progress status of the content in the frame scale when the content is paused.

The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein, in a state where the playback progress status of the content is initially displayed in the time scale, when a user command is inputted, the controller switches the playback progress status from the time scale to the frame scale, thereby displaying the frame-scale playback progress status.

7. The mobile terminal of claim 1, further comprising:

an audio output module configured to output a sound for notifying the user of the playback progress being displayed in one of the time scale and the frame scale, and

wherein, when the time scale is switched to the frame scale, and vice versa, the controller controls the audio output module so that a sound notifying the user of the corresponding playback progress status can be outputted.

The mobile terminal of claim 1, wherein, when the playback progress status is displayed in the frame scale, the controller extracts still images corresponding to a predetermined frame-per-time scale from at least one of a video portion that has already been played-back and a video portion that is to be played-back, with respect to a current playback position, and aligns the extracted still images by order to a playback time, thereby displaying the aligned still images.

9. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein the controller displays each of the extracted still images in the form of a thumbnail.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein the controller displays a still image corresponding to the current playback position so that the corresponding still image can be identified from the still images.

11. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, when one of the still images is selected, the controller changes the current playback position to the playback position corresponding to the selected still image.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, when one of the still images is moved outside of the alignment of the still images, the controller changes the current playback position to the playback position corresponding to the moved still image.

The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, among the still images, when a first still image corresponding to the current playback position is moved to a position of a specific second still image, the controller changes the current playback position to the playback position corresponding to the second still image.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein the controller categorizes the aligned still images into two or more groups by order of proximity to the current playback position, and displays the categorized groups by the order of proximity to the current playback position.

The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, in a state where a first point and a second point are multi-touched within an area displaying the still images, and in accordance with an increase or decrease in a distance between the multi-touched first point and second point, the controller increases or reduces the frame-per-time scale.

The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, when at least one or more still images are selected, the controller displays a user interface (UI) for inputting a memo that is to be attached to each of the selected still image, and when a memo is inputted via the UI, the controller attaches the inputted memo to the selected still image.

17. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, when at least one or more still images are selected, the controller saves the selected still image in a file format.

18. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, when at least one or more still images are selected, the controller deletes portions corresponding to the selected still image from the content.

19. The mobile terminal of claim 8, wherein, when a first still image and a second still image are selected from the still images, the controller repeatedly plays-back a section between the first designated still image and the second designated still image.

20. A method for controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

displaying a playback screen of a content including image on a touch screen;

detecting whether or not a command for displaying a playback progress status of the content in one of a time scale and a frame scale is being inputted; and

when the command is inputted, displaying the playback progress status of the content in one of the time scale and the frame scale in accordance with the inputted command.
