1. A method of monitoring behavior of a subject comprising:

  • monitoring the movements of the subject within a space using one or more sensor each comprising a two dimensional array of thermal detector elements;

    processing signals from the at least one sensor to determine current values for one or more parameters associated with one or more patterns of behavior of the subject;

    establishing one or more models of a pattern of subject behavior for the subject or the space being monitored; and

    using the current values and the established one or more model of a pattern of behavior to identify aberrations from an established model for the subject or the space.
