1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing executable contents which when executed by a computing device cause the computing device to perform a method of storing modifications to an electronic document, the method comprising:

  • receiving a request for content, the request containing information of a rendered document optically captured;

    identifying context information associated with the optical capture of the information from the rendered document, wherein the context information includes information associated with an identification of the rendered document from which the information was optically captured;

    formulating a search query that is based on the captured information and on the identified context information;

    retrieving the requested content from a repository of content using the search query;

    receiving modifications of the requested content; and

    storing the received modifications separately from the requested content.
