1. A stereo display system (400) comprising:
- a display (402);
a viewing area (404); and
one or more pairs of stereo projectors (409-411), each pair of stereo projectors corresponding to a sub-region of the viewing area, wherein each pair of stereo projectors projects an image pair onto the display that will appear substantially rectified to viewers located in the corresponding sub-region who exclusively view that image pair enabling them to perceive three-dimensional images presented on the display.

Abstract
Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to stereo display systems. In one embodiment, the stereo display system includes a display (402), a viewing area (404), and one or more pairs of stereo projectors (409-411). Each pair of stereo projectors corresponds to a sub-region of the viewing area. In addition, each pair of stereo projectors projects a rectified image pair onto the display so that one or more viewers located in the corresponding sub-region exclusively view the image pair, enabling the viewers in the sub-region to perceive three-dimensional images presented on the display.

14. A method for viewing three-dimensional images comprising:

projecting (1001) one or more image pairs onto a display, each image pair generated by a pair of stereo projectors; selectively viewing (1002) each of the one or more image pairs in one or more corresponding sub-regions of a viewing area, wherein within each sub-region one or more viewers exclusively view the corresponding image pair; and rectifying (1003) each of the one or more image pairs, wherein within each sub-region the one or more viewers perceive the three-dimensional images presented on the display. - View Dependent Claims (15)
