Abstract

According to an embodiment, the present invention provides a method for providing automated decision in response to one or more responses. The method includes providing, at a computer system, a user interface for receiving input from a user. The method also includes detecting a first event. The method further includes receiving a first set of attributes associated with the first event. Also, the method includes processing the first set of attributes. The method additionally includes analyzing the first set of attributes using at least pattern recognition. The method includes determining a first context for the first event based at least on the first set of attributes.

Claims

1. A computer system, comprising:

one or more processors; and

a storage memory in communication with the one or more processors, the storage memory storing an enterprise application on a computer readable storage medium for providing automated decision in response to one or more events occurring within an enterprise supply chain application, wherein procurement operations comprising a set of instructions executable by the one or more processors to perform one or more operations comprise;

instructions for providing, at a computer system, a user interface for receiving input from a user;

instructions for designing a sense and response application;

instructions for deploying the sense and respond application;

instructions for modifying, by the sense and response application, a set of rules based on the user inputs;

instructions for detecting, by the sense and response application, a first event within the supply chain;

instructions for receiving, by the sense and response application, a first set of attributes associated with the first event;

instructions for analyzing the first set of attributes using at least pattern recognition;

instructions for determining, by the sense and response application, a first context information for the first event based at least on the first set of attributes;

instructions for analyzing the first context information;

instructions for interpreting the first context using a logic element;

instructions for checking a context inconsistency using the logic element;

instructions for resolving the context inconsistency if it is determined that the first contact information has the context inconsistency;

instructions for determining dependencies between the first event and the set of related events using at least the first context information; and

instructions for generating, by the sense and response application, a first set of one or more responses based on the first set of attributes and the dependencies using the set of rules and the first context information;

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the instructions for detecting the first event comprises instructions for receiving notification of the first event from one ore more of the following:

an enterprise resource planning application, a news feed, sensor based events, events from external ecommerce systems.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the instructions for detecting the first event comprises instructions for receiving information about the first event from a sensor.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the instructions for detecting the first event comprises instructions for receiving notification of the first event from an external ecommerce system.

5. The system of claim 2, wherein the first set of one or more responses comprises

instructions for running the sense and respond application; and

instructions for receiving, via the user interface, user inputs.

19. The computer system of claim 1, wherein the sets of instructions further executable by the one or more processors to perform one or more operations comprise:

instructions for processing the first set of attributes;

instructions for storing the first context information in a context knowledge base; and

instructions for selecting a logic element for interpreting the first context information.

20. The computer system of claim 1, wherein the sets of instructions further executable by the one or more processors to perform one or more operations comprise:

instructions for providing, at the user interface, the first set of responses to the user

6. A method for providing automated decision making in response to one or more events, the method comprising:

providing, at a computer system, a user interface for receiving input from a user;

detecting a first event;

receiving a first set of attributes associated with the first event;

processing the first set of attributes;

analyzing the first set of attributes using at least pattern recognition;

determining a first context for the first event based at least on the first set of attributes;

retrieving a set of related events based on the first contact and the first set of attributes;

determining dependencies between the first event and the set of related events;

generating a first set of responses based on the first set of attributes and the dependencies using a first set of rules; and

providing, at the user interface, the first set of responses to the user.

7. An apparatus, comprising:

a computer readable medium having encoded thereon a set of instructions executable by one or more computers to provide automated decision-making in response to one or more events, the set of instructions comprising;

instructions for providing a user interface for receiving input from a user;

instructions for detecting a first event;

instructions for receiving a first set of attributes associated with the first event;

instructions for processing the first set of attributes;

instructions for analyzing the first set of attributes using at least pattern recognition;

instructions for determining a first context for the first event based at least on the first set of attributes;

instructions for retrieving a set of related events based on the first contact and the first set of attributes;

instructions for determining dependencies between the first event and the set of related events;

instructions for generating a first set of responses based on the first set of attributes and the dependencies using a first set of rules; and

instructions for providing, at the user interface, the first set of responses to the user.

8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

instructions for selecting the first set of response based on whether an effect of the first set of event is long-term or short-term.

9. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

instructions for storing the first event at a event database.

10. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

instructions for updating the first set of rules in response to detecting a second event.

11. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the instructions for detecting the first event comprise instructions for receiving information about the first event from a sensor.

12. The apparatus of claim 7, further comprising

instructions for alerting the user for the first event.

13. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

instructions for generating a second set of responses, wherein the first set of response is a short-term response and the second set of response is a long-term response;

14. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

instructions for receiving a set of training events;

instructions for receiving a set of training rules from the user, the set of rules being associated with the set of training events; and

instructions for generating the first set of rules based at least on the set of training rules and the set of training events.

15. The apparatus of claim 14, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

instructions for detecting an additional one or more events; and

instructions for modifying the first set of rules based at least on the one or more events.

16. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

instructions for determining a second context for the first event upon receiving a second event, the second event being related to the first event.

17. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the set of instructions further comprises:

displaying information associated with the first events at the user interface.
