Abstract

An apparatus includes a planar display defining an outward pointing normal vector and an inward pointing normal vector; sensor circuitry configured to sense an initial relative position of the planar display and configured to sense a change in relative position of the planar display; and zoom circuitry configured to zoom an image presented on the planar display responsive to a change in relative position of the display sensed by the sensor circuitry where the change in relative position has a vector component along one of the normal vectors. Various other apparatuses, systems, methods, etc., are also disclosed.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a planar display defining an outward pointing normal vector and an inward pointing normal vector;

sensor circuitry configured to sense an initial relative position of the planar display and configured to sense a change in relative position of the planar display; and

zoom circuitry configured to zoom an image presented on the planar display responsive to a change in relative position of the display sensed by the sensor circuitry wherein the change in relative position comprises a vector component along one of the normal vectors.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises an accelerometer.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises gyroscope.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises an emitter and a detector.

5. The apparatus of claim 4 wherein the emitter comprises an emitter selected from a group consisting of infrared emitters, laser emitters and ultrasound emitters.

6. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises a camera.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises a camera and an accelerometer.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises a sensor configured to sense information for determination of a distance between the display and an object.

9. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the zoom circuitry comprises circuitry configured to receive image coordinates based at least in part on cross-hairs rendered to the planar display.

10. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising control circuitry configured to control the zoom circuitry based at least in part on relative rotational position of the display about a normal vector of the display as sensed by the sensor circuitry.

11. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising control circuitry configured to control the zoom circuitry based at least in part on at least one member selected from a group consisting of a relative pitch position of the display as sensed by the sensor circuitry, a relative yaw position of the display as sensed by the sensor circuitry and a relative roll position of the display as sensed by the sensor circuitry.

12. The apparatus of claim 1 further comprising control circuitry configured to disable the zoom circuitry based at least in part on relative position of the display as sensed by the sensor circuitry.

13. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises circuitry configured to define a three-dimensional coordinate system.

14. The apparatus of claim 13 wherein the defined coordinate system comprises a coordinate system defined, in part, with respect to gravity.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein the relative position of the display comprises a relative position determined, at least in part, with respect to gravity.

16. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises a camera to determine, in part, proximity of the planar display to an object and an accelerometer to determine, in part, a direction of Earth'"'"'s gravity with respect to orientation of the planar display.

17. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the sensor circuitry comprises a positioning system sensor.

18. A method comprising:

sensing a change in relative position of a planar display wherein the change comprises a vector component along an outward pointing normal vector defined by the planar display;

responsive to the change, zooming an image displayed on the planar display;

sensing a change in relative position of the planar display wherein the change comprises a vector component along an inward pointing normal vector defined by the planar display; and

responsive to the change, zooming an image displayed on the planar display.

19. The method of claim 18 wherein the sensing comprises sensing proximity of the planar display to an object.

20. One or more computer-readable media comprising processor-executable instructions to instruct a processor to:

zoom an image displayed on a planar display, responsive to a sensed change in relative position of the planar display wherein the change comprises a vector component along an outward pointing normal vector defined by the planar display; and

zoom an image displayed on the planar display, responsive to a sensed change in relative position of the planar display wherein the change comprises a vector component along an inward pointing normal vector defined by the planar display.
