Abstract

A verification device that is used in a system in which a first device and a second device communicate using a physical communication path that includes at least one switch among switches included in a plurality of switch clusters and does not include a plurality of switches that belong to a different switch cluster among the plurality of switch clusters, the verification device including a verification unit that verifies whether switches included in a first communication path and a second communication path that are communication paths used for communication between the first device and the second device are included in the same switch cluster, and an output unit that outputs a result of the verifying.

Claims

1. A recording medium storing an evaluation program that causes a computer to:

evaluate, by the computer, whether switches in a first communication path and a second communication path between a first device and a second device are included in a same switch cluster of a plurality of switch clusters, to thereby produce an evaluation result, and

output the evaluation result.

2. A recording medium storing an evaluation program that causes a computer to:

store, in a storage, port identification information that identifies a destination port of each port provided in switches included in respective switch clusters of a plurality of switch clusters, in association with cluster identification information that identifies each switch cluster of the plurality of switch clusters,

obtain port identification information that identifies both a first port and a second port that are ports provided in a first device and accommodating a communication path used for communication with a second device,

evaluate whether the cluster identification information stored in the storage in association with the obtained port identification information that identifies the first port matches the cluster identification information stored in the storage in association with the obtained port identification information that identifies the second port, to thereby produce an evaluation result, and

output the evaluation result.

3. The recording medium storing an evaluation program according to claim 2 that further causes a computer to:

indicate the presence of redundancy in physical paths between the first device and the second device when the evaluation result indicates no match.

4. The recording medium storing an evaluation program according to claim 2 that further causes a computer to:

indicate the presence of redundancy in physical paths between the first device and the second device when the evaluation result indicates a match, there are two matching switches in the switch cluster identified in the cluster identification information, and the destination switches of the first port and the second port do not match.

5. The recording medium storing an evaluation program according to claims 2 that further causes a computer to:

conduct a path searching process on physical communication paths between the first device and the second device, and conduct redundancy verification of the physical communication paths between the first device and the second device when the presence of redundancy is not indicated.

6. The recording medium storing an evaluation program according to claims 2 that further causes a computer to:

obtain port identification information that identifies a third port that is a port provided in the second device and accommodates a communication path that is accommodated by the first port, and

outputs a communication path setting error when the cluster identification information stored in the storage in association with the obtained port identification information that identifies the third port and the cluster identification information stored in the storage in association with the port identification information that identifies the first port do not match.

7. A verification device that is used in a system in which a first device and a second device communicate using a physical communication path that includes at least one switch among switches included in a plurality of switch clusters and does not include a plurality of switches that belong to a different switch cluster among the plurality of switch clusters, the verification device comprising:

a verification unit that verifies whether switches included in a first communication path and a second communication path that are communication paths used for communication between the first device and the second device are included in the same switch cluster, and thereby produces a verification result, and

an output unit that outputs the verification result.

A verification method that is used in a system in which a first device and a second device communicate using a physical communication path that includes at least one switch among switches included in a plurality of switch clusters and does not include a plurality of switches that belong to a different switch cluster among the plurality of switch clusters, the verification method comprising:

verifying, by a computer, whether switches included in a first communication path and a second communication path that are communication paths used for communication between the first device and the second device are included in the same switch cluster.

9. A verification device comprising a communication interface and a processor, wherein

the communication interface obtains information indicating a destination of each port of each device included in a system in which a first device and a second device communicate through any of a plurality of switch clusters, and

the processor verifies whether switches included in each of a first communication path and a second communication path that are communication paths used for communication between the first device and the second device, are included in the same switch cluster based on the obtained information indicating the destination.

10. A verification device in a system that includes a first device, a second device, and a plurality of switch clusters, the verification device comprising:

a memory,

a communication interface, and

a processor;

wherein

the memory stores port identification information that identifies a destination port of each port provided in each switch included in each of the switch clusters, in association with cluster identification information that identifies each of the switch clusters in the plurality of switch clusters,

the communication interface obtains the port identification information that identifies a first port and a second port that are ports provided in the first device and that accommodate the communication path used for communication with the second device, and

the processor verifies whether the cluster identification information stored in the memory in association with the obtained port identification information that identifies the first port matches the cluster identification information stored in the memory in association with the obtained port identification information that identifies the second port.
