Abstract

In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for integrating a private branch exchange (PBX)-equipped client and an on-demand database service. These mechanisms and methods for integrating a PBX-equipped client and an on-demand database service can enable embodiments with additional infrastructure at the client that is better equipped to leverage the on-demand database service. The ability of embodiments to provide such client side infrastructure can enable additional enhanced services in conjunction with telephone calls, etc.

Claims

1. A computer program product, comprising a non-transitory computer usable medium having a computer readable program code embodied therein, the computer readable program code adapted to be executed to implement a method, the method comprising:

detecting, in connection with a computer with a public branch exchange (PBX) system, an event relating to a call; and

causing communication with an on-demand database service, in response to the detection of the event.

2. The computer program product of claim 1, wherein the detecting occurs at the computer.

3. The computer program product of claim 1, wherein the detecting occurs at the on-demand database service.

4. The computer program product of claim 1, wherein the computer includes a client.

5. The computer program product of claim 1, wherein the call includes a telephone call.

6. The computer program product of claim 1, wherein the on-demand database service includes contact information.

7. The computer program product of claim 6, wherein the contact information includes an address.

8. The computer program product of claim 1, wherein the computer includes at least one interface.

9. The computer program product of claim 8, wherein the at least one interface is template-based.

10. The computer program product of claim 8, wherein the at least one interface includes entry information and the entry information includes comments.

11. A method, comprising:

detecting, in connection with a computer with a public branch exchange (PBX) system, an event relating to a call; and

causing communication with an on-demand database service, in response to the detection of the event, utilizing a processor.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the call includes a telephone call.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the computer includes at least one interface.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein the at least one interface is template-based.

15. The method of claim 13, wherein the at least one interface includes entry information and the entry information includes comments.

16. An apparatus, comprising:

a processor for;

detecting, in connection with a computer with a public branch exchange (PBX) system, an event relating to a call; and

causing communication with an on-demand database service, in response to the detection of the event.

17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the detecting occurs at the computer.

18. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the detecting occurs at the on-demand database service.

19. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the computer includes a client.
