Abstract

This disclosure concerns an interactive head-mounted eyepiece with an integrated processor for handling content for display and an integrated image source for introducing the content to an optical assembly through which the user views a surrounding environment and the displayed content. The eyepiece includes an adjustable wrap around extendable arm comprising a shape memory material for securing the position of the eyepiece on the user'"'"'s head, wherein the extendable arm extends from an end of an eyepiece arm.

Claims

1. An interactive head-mounted eyepiece worn by a user, wherein the eyepiece includes an optical assembly through which the user views a surrounding environment and displayed content, an integrated processor for handling content for display to the user, and an integrated image source for introducing the content to the optical assembly;

and

an adjustable wrap around extendable arm comprising a shape memory material for securing the position of the eyepiece on the user'"'"'s head, wherein the extendable arm extends from an end of an eyepiece arm.

2. The eyepiece of claim 1, wherein the end of a wrap around extendable arm is covered with silicone.

3. The eyepiece of claim 1, wherein the ends of the wrap around extendable arms meet and secure to each other.

4. The eyepiece of claim 1, wherein the ends of the wrap around extendable arms independently grasp a portion of the head.

5. The eyepiece of claim 1, wherein a wrap around extendable arm extends from the end of the eyepiece arm.

6. The eyepiece of claim 1, wherein the wrap around extendable arm attaches to a portion of the head mounted eyepiece to secure the eyepiece to the user'"'"'s head.

7. The eyepiece of claim 1, wherein at least one of the wrap around extendable arms is detachable from the head mounted eyepiece.

8. The eyepiece of claim 1, wherein the wrap around extendable arm is an add-on feature of the head mounted eyepiece.
