1. A three-dimensional image display apparatus comprising:
- a display unit;
a detecting unit configured to detect an observation position of an observer relative to the display unit;
a determining unit configured to determine an amount of parallax of an input image signal to be reduced as an angle increases between a normal direction of a surface of the display unit and an observation direction based on the detected observation position or as a distance decreases between the surface of the display unit and the detected observation position; and
a generating unit configured to generate a multi-view image to be displayed on the display unit on a basis of the determined amount of parallax.
