1. A method of processing distributed data of a chosen type in a data packet network comprising communication nodes (Ni), said method being characterized in that it comprises the steps of:
- receiving a plurality of packets, comprising data of the chosen type and sent at regular time intervals by a source communication node (N1),assessing a packet delay variation of each of said received packets,selecting a subset of said received packets according to their respective assessed packet delay variations, andsynchronizing a destination communication node (N5) of said data packet network by means of timing information derived from said selected subset.
