10. A method for redeeming a printed barcode, comprising:

22. A method of validating a scan of a barcode displayed on a barcode rendering device, the method comprising:

displaying a barcode on a display of the barcode rendering device; detecting a first signal indicating an attempted scan of the displayed barcode by a barcode scanner; detecting a second signal indicating acceptance of the attempted scan by a point of sale terminal to which the barcode scanner is communicatively coupled; and based on the detection of the first and second signals, determining that the attempted scan of the displayed barcode by the barcode scanner was successful. - View Dependent Claims (23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33)
