Abstract

The disclosed method and device are directed to navigation, by a dual display communication device, through display objects.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, by at least one of a gesture capture region and a touch sensitive display, a gesture; and

in response, moving, by processor-executable middleware, a first displayed image on a first touch sensitive display of a communication device to a second touch sensitive display of the communication device;

determining, after the first displayed image has moved successfully to the second touch sensitive display and by processor-executable middleware, that the gesture is continuing; and

in response, moving, by processor-executable middleware, a second displayed image on a first touch sensitive display of a communication device to the second touch sensitive display of the communication device wherein the first and second displayed images are at least one of a desktop and window.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the first and second displayed images are windows and wherein the first gesture is a drag.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the first and second displayed images are controlled by a common multi-screen application and wherein, in response to the gesture, both the first and second displayed images are moved from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein stack positions of the first and second displayed images on the first touch sensitive display before the gesture are the same as stack positions of the first and second displayed images after movement to the second touch sensitive display.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the first and second gestures are received by a common gesture capture region and wherein the gesture capture region is unable to display any displayed image.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the first and second displayed images are windows controlled by a common multi-screen application and wherein a relative ordering of the windows is the same before and after movement.

7. A non-transient computer readable medium comprising processor executable instructions operable to perform the steps of claim 1.

8. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a gesture capture region, a drag gesture;

in response, moving, by processor-executable middleware, a first window from a first touch sensitive display to a second touch sensitive display;

determining, by the processor-executable middleware, that the drag gesture is continuous; and

in response, moving, by the processor-executable middleware, a second window from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the first and second windows are controlled by a common multi-screen application.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the first and second windows are hierarchically related to one another.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the drag gestures is received by a gesture capture region and wherein the gesture capture region is unable to display any displayed image and wherein the first and second displayed images are windows controlled by a common multi-screen application.

12. A non-transient computer readable medium comprising processor executable instructions operable to perform the steps of claim 8.

13. A dual display communication device, comprising:

a gesture capture region to receive a flick gesture;

a first touch sensitive display to receive a flick gesture and display displayed images, wherein the displayed images are at least one of a desktop and window of an application;

a second touch sensitive display to receive a flick gesture and display displayed images; and

middleware operable to perform at least one of the following operations;

receive, by at least one of the gesture capture region and a touch sensitive display, a gesture; and

in response, move a first displayed image on the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display;

determine, after the first displayed image has moved successfully to the second touch sensitive display, that the gesture is continuing; and

in response, move a second displayed image on the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display, wherein the first and second displayed images are at least one of a desktop and window.

14. The device of claim 13 wherein the first and second displayed images are windows and wherein the first gesture is a drag.

15. The device of claim 13, wherein the first and second displayed images are controlled by a common multi-screen application and wherein, in response to the gesture, both the first and second displayed images are moved from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display.

16. The device of claim 13, wherein stack positions of the first and second displayed images on the first touch sensitive display before the gesture are the same as stack positions of the first and second displayed images after movement to the second touch sensitive display.

17. The device of claim 13, wherein the first and second gestures are received by a common gesture capture region and wherein the gesture capture region is unable to display any displayed image.

18. The device of claim 13, wherein the first and second displayed images are windows controlled by a common multi-screen application and wherein a relative ordering of the windows is the same before and after movement.
