Abstract

Embodiments are described for handling focus when a gesture is input in a multi-screen device. In embodiments, a first image displayed on a first touch sensitive display of a first screen may be currently in focus. In embodiments, the gesture is a tap on a second touch sensitive display of the device. In response to the gesture, focus is changed from the first image on the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display.

Claims

1. A method, comprising:

displaying a first image in a first display of a first screen, wherein the first image is in focus;

displaying a second image in a second display of a second screen;

receiving, by at least one of a gesture capture region and a touch sensitive display, a gesture indicating a request to change focus from at least one of the first image to the second image, the second display, or the second screen; and

changing the focus from the first image to at least one of the second image, the second display, or the second screen.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the changing comprises:

changing the focus from the first image to the second image.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the changing comprises:

changing the focus from the first image to the second display.

4. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

wherein the first displayed image is a first open window of a first application and the second displayed image is a second open window of a second application.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving input indicating that in response to the gesture, the focus should be changed to the at least one of the second image, the second display, or the second screen.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

highlighting a configurable area on the first screen when the focus is on the first image in the first display area; and

highlighting a second configurable area on the second screen when the focus is on the at least one of the second image, the second display, or the second screen.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

in response to receiving the gesture, highlighting the at least one of the second image, the second display, or the second screen.

8. The method of claim 1, in response to receiving the gesture, lighting a second configurable area of the second screen.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the gesture is a tap on the second touch sensitive display.

10. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing computer executable instructions that when executed by at least one processor perform a method comprising:

receiving, by a second touch sensitive display of a second screen, input indicating a request to change focus to the second touch sensitive display; and

in response to receiving the input, changing focus from a first image displayed on a first touch sensitive display of a first screen to the second touch sensitive display.

11. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the input is a tap on the second touch sensitive display.

12. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the method further comprises:

in response to receiving the input, lighting a portion of a second configurable area of the second screen and allowing input from the second configurable area.

13. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the method further comprises:

in response to receiving the input, darkening a portion of a first configurable area of the first screen and highlighting a portion of a second configurable area of the second screen.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13, wherein the method further comprises:

allowing input from the second configurable area; and

not allowing input from the first configurable area.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 10, wherein the method further comprises:

receiving input indicating that in response to the input, the focus should be changed to the second touch sensitive display.

16. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 11, wherein the tap requires contact with the screen for a predetermined period of time.

17. A dual screen communication device, comprising:

a first touch sensitive display of a first screen;

a second touch sensitive display of a second screen;

a computer readable medium that stores computer executable instructions that when executed by at least one processor perform a method comprising;

receiving a tap, by the second touch display, indicating a request to change focus;

changing the focus from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display; and

allowing input from at least one button of the second screen.

18. The device of claim 17, wherein the method further comprises:

highlighting a portion of the at least one button.

19. The device of claim 17, wherein the method further comprises:

not allowing input from at least a portion of the first touch sensitive display.

20. The device of claim 17, wherein the method further comprises:

highlighting a portion of the second touch sensitive display when the focus is on the second touch sensitive display.
