1. A method, comprising:
- receiving, by processor executable middleware in a multi-display communication device, a command to at least one of minimize and maximize a set of related windows from a common multi-screen application, the set of related windows comprising a higher level window and a lower level window at least one of displayed and to be displayed by different touch sensitive displays and at least one of the higher and lower level windows comprises a modal launched from one of the higher and lower level windows;
applying, by the processor executable middleware, the following rules;
(B1) when the set of related windows is to be maximized, maintaining the modal in view in the one of the higher and lower level windows from which the modal was launched; and
(B2) when the set of related windows is to be minimized, applying at least one of the following sub-rules;
(B2i) when the at least one of the higher and lower level windows comprising the modal is displayed after the set of related windows is minimized, maintaining the modal in view; and
(B2ii) when the at least one of the higher and lower level windows comprising the modal is not to be displayed after the set of related windows is minimized, cancelling automatically the modal.

12. A method, comprising:
-
receiving, by processor executable middleware in a multi-display communication device comprising first and second touch sensitive displays, a command to rotate a display from one of portrait and landscape display mode to the other of portrait and landscape display mode, wherein the first touch sensitive display comprises a modal launched from at least one of a higher and lower level window in a set of related windows comprising a higher level window and a lower level window at least one of displayed and to be displayed by different touch sensitive displays; applying, by the processor executable middleware, the following rules; (B1) when the first and second touch sensitive displays are rotated from a portrait display mode to a landscape display mode, applying at least one of the following sub-rules; (B1i) when the first touch sensitive display is, relative to the second touch sensitive display, in an upper position after rotation and the first touch sensitive display displays the at least one of a higher and lower level window, displaying the modal in the first touch sensitive display after rotation; and (B1ii) when the first touch sensitive display is, relative to the second touch sensitive display, in a lower position after rotation and neither the first nor second touch sensitive display displays the at least one of a higher and lower level window, not displaying, after rotation, the modal in either the first or second touch sensitive display; and (B2) when the first and second touch sensitive displays are rotated from a landscape display mode to a portrait display mode, displaying the modal, after rotation, on the one of the first and second touch sensitive displays on which the modal was launched. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)
