1. An intragastric obesity treatment implant that stimulates the stomach walls, comprising:

  • an inflatable member having an inflated size that will not pass through the pyloric sphincter and a volume within the stomach of at least 400 ml and being made of a material that will resist degradation over a period of at least six months within the stomach, the inflatable member being formed as a substantially planar disc having opposed faces and a peripheral surface and a maximum width larger than the contracted width of an adult stomach so alter the shape of the stomach to conform somewhat to the inflatable member,the implant being formed of a material which permits it to be compressed when deflated into a substantially linear delivery configuration.
