Abstract

A WTRU may receive a first a data flow from a source device such as a correspondence node and perform a seamless IUT such that the correspondent node is unaware that the flow has been transferred to a different WTRU. The WTRU may register with a first home agent, wherein the first home agent receives a plurality of messages addressed for a home address. The home agent may forward the messages to the WTRU at a first care-of-address. The WTRU may send a binding update to the first home agent. The binding update may comprise a second traffic selector and a second action. The second action may specify that a second message of the plurality of messages is to be forwarded to a different WTRU when the second message matches the second traffic selector.

Claims

3-1. The method of claim 1, further comprising sending a request for authorization to send the second binding update, and receiving authorization to send the second binding update.

10. A method comprising:

receiving registration information for a first device from the first device;

receiving a plurality of messages from a message source, each of the plurality of messages addressed for a home address;

receiving a first binding update from the first device, the first binding update comprising a first traffic selector and a first action, wherein the first action specifies that a first message of the plurality of messages is to be forwarded to the first device if the first message matches the first traffic selector; and

receiving a second binding update from the first device, the second binding update comprising a second traffic selector and a second action, wherein the second action specifies that a second message of the plurality of messages is to be forwarded to a second device if the second message matches the second traffic selector.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the registration information includes a routing address and a binding identification for the first device.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the first action comprises an instruction to forward the first message based on the binding identification.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising determining if the second binding update is authorized.

14. The method of claim 10, further comprising deleting the first traffic selector after the second traffic selector has been received.

15. The method of claim 11, further comprising receiving registration information for the second device from the first device.

16. A Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) comprising:

a transmitter for sending;

a first message to a home agent, the first message comprising a first traffic selector and a first action, the first action indicating that a packet is to be forwarded from the home agent to the WTRU if the packet matches the first traffic selector, wherein the packet is addressed for a first proxy address and is sent from a source device to the home agent; and

a second message to the home agent, the second message comprising a second action, wherein the second action indicates that the packet is to be forwarded to a different WTRU if the packet matches the first traffic selector, wherein the source device is unaware the packet is to be forwarded to the second WTRU.

17. The WTRU of claim 16, wherein the second message further comprises an instruction to ignore the first action.

18. The WTRU of claim 16, further comprising a receiver for receiving addressing information and application information for the different WTRU from the second device.

19. The WTRU of claim 16, wherein the transmitter further sends a third message, wherein the third message is sent to the different device and includes the first proxy address.

20. The WTRU of claim 16, wherein the second action further indicates that a Internet Protocol (IP) header of the packet is to be replace prior to forwarding the packet to the different WTRU.
